Aurora Borealis

One of the earths natural wonders I would love to see one day are the Northern Lights also known as Aurora Borealis. Basically they are these pretty bright lights that shine in Alaska or some random place like Polar areas or something...and they are quite a sight to see! This phenomenon happens when the Earth's magnetic field collides with solar wind...what ever the hell thats supposed to mean. I don't know really how to explain it...it's way too scientifical for me! All I know is they are interesting and beautiful and I want to see them! It's very Final Fantasy like!

Aint they purdy?

This one looks like the Angel of Death from the Ten Commandments movie!

Indie GaGa

The other day I was on youtube and I came across this piece of history. Lady GaGa when she was an independent artist and her band was known as the "Stefani Germanotta Band". Generic or what? This was back in 2006 so she was around 19 or 20. Hah, bet she would have never known three years later she would become one of the biggest names in Pop music. She looks totally different, she looks so Un GaGa, she looks so...normal! But who likes normal these days? I sure don't. Her old style of music seems very Michelle Branchy/Vanessa Carltony like.

Disneyland with Vicki

The last time I went to Disneyland was for my 18th Birthday almost three years ago. Since then I've been planning another trip to Disney and finally the plans have come alive! Originally it was supposed to be Vicki, Bobby, Joey and myself but Bobby couldn't make it and since he's not going its like 100% Joey can't go either. Since we now had a few extra seats in the car my Mom decides to invite our upstairs neighbors Grace and James. Which was perfect so my Mom wouldn't go walking around Disney by herself. Anyways, yesterday morning came and I woke up at 6:15am and got ready to head on to Disney! We picked up Vicki on the way and thus our journey to Anaheim began. We got there relatively fast considering we stopped for breakfast at Carls Jr. It's now 10am and we FINALLY get into the dang parking structure! I kid you not it took us an extra half hour looking for the Disneyland parking lot entrance since the main entrance was closed. We hop off the car and Vicki and I are excited! This was her first time going since she was like 4 years old or something so she was pretty stoked. By the time we got to the gate, we parted ways with my Mom and Neighbors and off we go into the Magic Kingdom! The first thing in Disneyland is Main Street USA but since we're so excited we skip all the shops since thats usually what you do when you're leaving Disney. I decided to take Vicki on the Indiana Jones Adventure, one because thats like my favorite ride ever two because I need to test the waters on how Vicki does with faster rides (she's not a big fan of coasters). We get there and the line is closed for a little bit! I'm kind of bummed and I hope the ride isn't closed off the rest of the day. So instead I take her next door to the Jungle Cruise ride. This isn't the most exciting ride but I usually do it anyway just to complete most of the rides at Disneyland. We got off and Vicki was like; "THAT WAS THE MOST BORING THING EVER!" So I'm like fine, we will go on the UN BORING ride next! Indy was still closed so we walk around on Tarzan's Treehouse. I remember when it use to be the Swiss Family Robinsons Treehouse, but I guess since thats apparently outdated they changed it to Tarzan, which is fine since I like Tarzan but I'm sure fans of the original treehouse aren't too happy about it. We get off that and Indy Jones is re-opened! I love the theme of this ride it's very Tomb Raider-esque, even while waiting around in line it's pretty interesting. We get on and the ride begins and zoom we're off traveling through the forbidden temple! Fun or what? YES! We get off and Vicki was like that was intense! She was kinda scared so I was like; "Oh great she thought that was scary how is she gunna ride Thunder or Space Mountain?" We continue off to New Orleans Square where we ride Pirates of the Carribean, this ride is not really a favorite and it isn't too exciting if you've done it a million times before, but still it's classic Disneyland and a must do everytime. From there we continue walking off through New Orleans Sqaure. Our next stop; The Haunted Mansion, the line for this one was already super long so we just got a fastpass and went off to Thunder Mountain, the wait was only 10 minutes! Great because then we could get it over with fast and see how Vicki likes it. I love it, she hates it and felt sick afterword! Sometimes if a person doesn't like roller coasters I've always had the thought that maybe if they give it a chance and actually get the feel of the coaster then they will enjoy it, cause thats how I use to be, guess some people can't really handle coasters! After that I thought it was a definite NO to Space Mountain later on, since that one is faster and in the dark! After Thunder Mountain they opened this new petting zoo area, so we stayed there for a bit and petted sheep and goats so Vicki could feel a little better. By this time it's time to use our fast pass for the Haunted Mansion. Because it's around Holiday season they always redecorate the Mansion into the theme of The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's nice, but the original Mansion is one of my favorites so I kind of prefer that version over the Holiday version...Sorry Jack Skellington! After that we continue down into Critter Country where Splash Mountain and Winnie the Pooh is, we decide to do Splash Mountain later on go on the Pooh ride since the wait was only 5 minutes. Pooh's fun but even more fun if your under 5 years old. By this time it's already around 12:30pm and it doesn't seem like we're having as much fun as I thought we would. I'm kind of bummed because I love being in the whole Disneyland atmosphere and it just feels the day is going to drag on, Vicki feels there aren't too many rides, but of course since I've been there a bunch of times I know where the majority of rides are. It was also kind of hot and that definitely didn't help. Because of this thought I decide we should head over to Fantasyland where there a bunch of rides in one area. Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pans Flight are two of my favorite Fantasyland rides and a must every Disney visit. Of course, the lines for these are extremely long but we do them anyway. Peter first, then Alice. After Alice the Tea Cups are right next to it so we get on those. I'm not a big fan of the Tea Cups simply because I don't like rides that revolve and spin in place fast, but since this was Vickis first time in a long time and we want to do as much as we can so we get on. There not as bad as I remember, we would spin real fast...then slow...spin real fast...then slow down. I've noticed I'm a little big for the tea cups now! I hadn't been on them since I was like 11 or 12 after all. We then ride the King Arthurs Carrousel, it's called King Arthur yet the theme is Sleeping Beauty...yeah, I don't get it either, the music playing was a circus music box version of Part of that World so that was nice. After that we got Dumbo, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Snow Whites Scary Adventure and Pinocchio's Daring Journey, in which Vicki wasn't too fond of. I don't get that girl, she doesn't like the fast rides yet doesn't like the slow rides! *Confused* The Casey Jr. Train ride is closed for construction as well as the Storybook Land Canal Boats so we then head off to It's a Small World. Now I haven't been on on this one for quite some time, it's really not that great unless you're into dolls from around the world singing about how similar the world and close together we actually are...yeah thats rubbish XD Or unless you're a toddler then its amazing. Anyhow we go on and I was actually pretty impressed! Of course the Small World idea is still the same as its always been but they definitely refurbished it with new dolls and they even added a lot of Disney characters! I spotted Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, Alice and the White Rabbit, Cinderella with her mice friends, Aladdin and Jasmine, Mowgli, Marlin and Dory, Ariel and her sisters, Simba and Pumba, Woody from Toy Story(they are in the new America Section of Small World). So yeah, It's a Small World isn't as dredful as I use to think it was. Next Door to It's Small World is the new Princess Fantasy Faire where you get to meet the Princesses and do all sorts of "Princessy" Activities. This was one of the longest line waits and the SHORTEST experience! We were in line for like a good hour and 20 minutes. We finally get there and Vicki gets to take a picture with Cinderella, Aurora and Mulan. Yeah, all that for less then 2 minutes of Princess time! We didn't want to do the rest of the face painting stuff but as we were leaving Ariel, Belle and Jasmine walk right in! I guess 3 of Princesses switch off with other Princesses every so often or something. We were kind of bummed we missed them but it's okay because Vicki's favorite is Aurora and she got to take a picture with her. Plus Ariel wasn't even in her mermaid outfit so we weren't too bummed. It was kind of awkward because they had walked RIGHT in front of us and they all looked right at me and were like "HELLO HOW ARE YOU!" "ENJOY THE DAY AT DISNEYLAND!" I just kind of smiled and continued on, it's like what to do you say to a Disney Princess? They're really pretty though. The next place we go visit is Mickey's Toon Town because it was super close to where we were, and I wanted to ride Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin since that one is always fun. The wait was long but totally worth it, I love this ride cause you get to spin the car around while going through a wacky cartoon town of Roger Rabbit. I noticed the couple in front of us weren't spinning around AT ALL, how boring hah. We got off and walked around Toon Town for bit, Gadgets Go Coaster was closed but its okay cause I think I'm too big for that one anyway haha. By this time it was already around 6pm and things definitely are getting better, we start to have a really good time. We then met up with my Mom and Neighbors at the Plaza Inn Restaraunt, the food was EXPENSIVE! 13 bucks for a plate of pasta! It was really good though, Vicki didn't like hers too much. We again parted ways with my Mom and Neighbors and since we were around Tomorrowland we decided to go check out the rides there. Autopia was the first Tomorrowland ride we got on, it's not really one of my favorites but Vicki LOVED it! She liked it so much she wanted to go on TWICE! The first time I let her drive, and she was wreckless! I was like grunting the entire time! The next time we got on, I was driving! Her reasoning as to why she liked that ride so much was because she got to drive as wild as she wanted...Anyway, after that we got on Star Tours and the wait was only 5 minutes and its pretty fun though the robot driver was really loud hah. The next ride was Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. This was the first time riding it so I didn't know what to expect. It's an omnimover kind of ride where you sit in a cart and go through an outerspace settting where you use a laser gun to defeat the evil Emperor Zurg! I was totally winning but then Vicki miraculousy caught up and beat me! I couldn't believe it, but it's pretty fun ride. Because this was around the time of firework spectactular show I thought it would be a great time to run to Splash Mountain. Yeah, it definitely was NOT a good idea to ride Splash Mountain at night...this was the first time I ever sat in the very front, and I got freaking SOAKED! It wasn't even the final big drop that got drenched me, it was the second drop where a TIDAL WAVE just washed all over me! So next time I go to Disney I am NOT riding that at night! Vicki and I were wet the rest of time there. We then headed back over to Tomorrowland again where we got on the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Now I'm not sure if the Tomorrowland side is different the Fantasyland side, but this was definitely more intense then I remember! I was like; "Oh God I hope Vicki is okay!" Either or, this ride is still really fun but next time I go to Disney I'm going to ride boths sides to see if there is a difference. But yeah, other then that Vicki actually liked it. The next ride we got on was the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. This was another new Disneyland experience for me, they had closed the original submarine ride for a while but recently reopened it with a Nemo theme. It was pretty cool, it starts off kind of boring but then it gets better where you see laser projections of Nemo and friends swimming around in different areas. After we got off Nemo, I thought it was about time we were heading home, but Vicki then suggested that we go on Space Mountain. This was surprising to me because I had told her it was like a faster version of Thunder Mountain and in the dark! So I was excited she wanted to go on because I LOVE Space Mountain. The wait was 70 minutes and it was already 11:15pm! I really wanted to go on Space Mountain this time because for the Halloween Season they changed it a little and its called Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy. We finally board the ride at exactly 12:10pm. It's the generally the same ride but with this laser projection of a scary looking red ghost popping out at different times of the ride along with some scary sounds to go with it. We get off and I must say it was definitely one of the best rides of the night! Vicki was scared shitless the entire time but she had fun saying; "I handled that coaster better then I thought!" at the end. Which was GREAT, I've always thought Disneyland is a perfect roller coaster training area. It's now 12:20 so we met up with my Mom, Grace and James at the Market Shop in Main st. Together we head to our car in the parking garage. That was actually kind of hectic because James had taken the car earlier to buy some cigarettes and he forgot where he parked it. Finally he found it and he was going to pick us up where we were but it turns out he couldn't so we had to walk all the way to the bottom of the parking garage where we finally hopped in the car and headed for home. I must say, this was probably the funnest time I've ever been to Disneyland, of course I say that everytime, but I think every visit does just get better. At the end of our time at Disneyland Vicki had said; "This really is the happiest place on earth!" And thats great because I definitely agree and had hoped she would say that. We're already planning our next trip!

Here you leave Today and enter the world of Yesterday, Tomorrow and Fantasy

Oh yeah! I was so tired when I got out of the car while walking to our apartment I was thinking of how amazingly comfortable it will be when I get in bed. I actually started giggling and laughing about it! I caught myself doing that and stopped immediately! Imagine if any neighbors saw me, they would have been like wow that guy is psycho!

New Tomb Raider movie: Who will play Lara Croft?

Alrighty, now for those who know me personally will agree that I'm a Tomb Raider fan. I've been playing the Tomb Raider series since I was like 9 and to this day it's still my favorite video game franchise next to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. I'm a geek I know, but I don't care! I love video games! :D

There have been two major motion pictures based off of the games starring Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. While I love both movies and Angelina did great playing the part to this day I think they could have been a tad better. I could go on and on about the nitpicky differences between the video game Lara Croft and the movie Lara Croft, but that would take one essay of a post heh, plus it's not that big of deal anyway and for those who've never played a Tomb Raider before I suppose it does give movie goers the overall idea of what the heck Tomb Raider is all about. The first film did well grossing $40 million its opening weekend but then the second one flopped so plans for a third were scrapped :( Since 2006 there have been reports that a third is in the works. Of course most were rumours until December of 2008 where apparently Warner Brothers had aquired the rights for a new Tomb Raider movie (the previous ones were done by Paramount). Since then movie news about this have been flying around about the screen writer, producer, what is about, whose playing etc. Producer Dan Lin had this to say about it; "It's a great origin story that we're going to tell. A very character-oriented story. I would say more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies...I would say it's like Terminator - character-driven action. I think for me the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little too action-oriented. I wanted to have action, but with character." They are definitely trying to reinvigorate the franchise aswell as the video game Tomb Raider itself(Tomb Raider: Underworld just barely did well financially). What has me guessing though, is that the next game is going to be a prequel aswell, are they going to tie the new movie in with the game? Hmm very curious. Anyhow, since this is a prequel, I'm like 10000000% positive Angelina Jolie will NOT be Lara Croft. While that has me bummed because I thought she did so well in the first Tomb Raiders part of me says that its a good idea to try and market the Tomb Raider franchise again.

So who do I want to play Lara Croft now? *YAY* This takes me back to late 98' early 99' when news about the first Tomb Raider surfaced and I already had all sorts of ideas on who I wanted to play Lara Croft. Back then I wanted Catherine Zeta-Jones or Elizabeth Hurly to play her, Angelina got it and at the time I had NO idea who she was! In fact I was kind of mad about it because I saw a photo of her at the 2000 Academy Awards and she looked like freaking Morticia Adams kissing her brother! Of course when I saw the first trailer for Lara Croft Tomb Raider my thoughts about her instantly changed.

Here are the rumoured contenders for Lady Croft in the new Prequel. As of now my pick is going for Summer Glau.

Summer Glau - She's kind of an underated actress, I saw her in Serenity which she did a pretty good job in. She was also in the Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles tv show and from what I hear she was fantastic in that with all the kick-ass action scenes, plus she has the athletics needed to play Lara. To top it off, she kind of has the old school Lara Croft look to her...so even if the new movie has NOTHING to do with the original 5 amazing Tomb Raiders...at least Lara will actually look like Lara!

Kristin Kreuk - Canadian born actress of Dutch and Chinese Decent she is the second top contender next to Summer Glau shown in polls. Supposedly these two are "battling" for the role though I'm sure thats a rumour. Hmm, this one interests me. Lara Croft is an English woman, but I actually would not mind seeing Kristin take on the role. I did afterall, use think Lara Croft was Asian back when I first played the game. The only problem is that she was in that Chun Li movie and I heared that movie sucked major. Wheather it was her acting, story or what I don't know and I'm too lazy to go look it up, either or if she gets the role I hope she can pull it off.

Mila Kunis - I know what you're thinking...Meg from Family Guy and Jackie from that 70's show...she does totally look the part. I haven't seen her in any major movies other then her small young role in Gia (Hah, whata coinkidink she played a young Gia in Gia while adult Gia was played Angelina Jolie and here she might be a younger Lara Croft) While she is freakin' beautiful though I'm not sure how her voice would sound with an English Accent...If she was Lara and I saw her in it I probably wouldn't be able to get Meg out of my head and just wait for Peter Griffen to interrupt somewhere.

Sienna Millar - Let me start by saying the picture presented here is from GI Joe and its a total Lara Croft RIP OFF! Look at those gun holsters! And the Outfit!? It just just screams LARA CROFT! I remember seeing GI Joe in theater and I was just like...wow...she looks like Lara what a Tomb Raider rip off! Anyway, she did pretty good in GI Joe even though the movie kinda sucked...she's an OK actress, but I'm not too sure if she would make a good Lara...even though her look is ace...OBVIOUSLY

Rhona Mitra - The HILARIOUS thing about this rumour is that...she was actually a Lara Croft Model to promote the Tomb Raider games back in 1997-1998. I had NO CLUE was an actress (she was in Doomsday and Underworld 3) I don't know about this one, she's a only a year younger then Angelina and the point of not having Angelina is because they want a younger actress because this is an origin story...so what the hell? Might aswell bring Angelina back...she is an amazing actress afterall.

Megan Fox - Oh GOD ALMIGHTY NO!!! This rumour has already been bunked but I feel I have to talk about anyway. Supposedly shes the "next Angelina Jolie" whatever the hell that means, but...just no! Actually, this was the biggest Lara Croft rumour on the net, reports of Fox playing Lara were everywhere and I was just kicking and screaming. Sure she's hot, sure she looks like a younger Angelina, but homegirl can't act in my opinion. She needs to stay with Transformers and the crappy horror movies like Jennifer's Body. Lara Croft needs a good actress to fill her big boots(or bra size whatever).
P.S WE ALL KNOW WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE...so no need for me to post a pic heh.

I'm sure NONE of the above actresses will make the cut, they'll probably surprise me and pick some weirdo the same way they did with the first Tomb Raider. For now I really want Summer Glau to play Lara, though I'm still open to other contenders. Either way, I'm just excited there will be a new Tomb Raider movie (Megan Fox not included)

Pyscho Song of the Week: Hurdy Gurdy Man

So this next blog idea came from the The Epic Madonna "WORGIN" Fail lol. Anyhow, I was blabbing away about how I thought it was pyscho and then the idea just clicked... PYSCHO SONG OF THE WEEK POSTS!

Our first gem is a song called "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donovan, yeah, its bound to be weird! He did write that hilarious song about Yellow Mellow Electrical Banana and mad about Saffron or something...Anyhoo, I came across this when looking at a few soundtracks on my Zune (This was on Dumb and Dumber of all places LOL) in this one he just blabs about the Hurdy Gurdy Man coming around to him singing songs about love and hurdy gurdy hurdy gurdy he sang...and then he starts singing about the roly poly roly poly roly poly poly poly man that comes a singin'! Geeze was this MOLECULAR or what!? It's like shit you listen to while you're on some sort of strong ass drug and your high out of your mind (of course not that I know haha)

Anykahoot, here's the wacky, bizzare, odd, interesting, pyscho song, Hurdy Gurdy Man. By the way, this video has the lyrics so you can actually understand what the hell he's saying.

Downtown with Daniel & Claudia

Today is Wednesday and also the day I was going to hang out with Daniel. I catch the trolley and head to Downtown and boy was the trolley crowded today or what!? I don't think I've ever seen it that crowded before. Anyhoo, I get to Horton Plaza and wait around Jamba Juice for Daniel. He arrives with his Best Friend Claudia so it was nice to meet her. We then go have sushi at this placed called "Sushi Itto" it was pretty good I had a Shrimp Tempura Roll and the last Sushi on the plate had two hilarious shrimps sticking out of it. So there we ate our sushi and chatted about High School and Cholas and stuff like, oh and Valeries mean Mother! Claudia had to head off to class we said goodbye to her and Daniel and I walts around Downtown for a bit. We went to Starbucks where I tried the Iced White Mocha which was pretty good (apparently Daniel and the barista thought it was odd as to how I tried the Whip Cream...yeah I don't get it either haha). From Starbucks go to the World Market, cool place but very pricey in fact, the name use to be Cost Plus...and wow it does sure Cost Plus! After, Daniel and I walked around Horton Plaza and looked at different clothing stores. By this time it was around 8:00pm so we hopped on the Orange Trolley line. Daniel's stop was Euclid Ave where we parted ways and I continue the trolley trip. I wasn't exactly ready to go home, so I got off at Grossmont Center and walked around Barnes & Nobles where I bought a Green Tea Frap, I didn't know Starbucks still sold those until I saw a guy order one earlier. After that I thought it was time to head home so I from Grossmont Center I got picked up. Pretty fun day :D

Our day of...

Aaliyah

Okay, so I know I'm almost a month late on this, but then again I just started this blog not too long ago. Anyway, August 25th 2009 marks the 8th year since Aaliyah's passing :( I'll never forget that day, I was at Knotts Berry Farm and the next day it was all over the news. I was so bummed because I've loved her music for a long time and to this day she remains one of my favorite R&B artist of all time. Aayliah was definitely one in a million.

This weeks Movie Review: Memoirs of a Geisha

I thought a cool idea for my blog is to do somewhat of a weekly movie review for one my favorite movies or new movies I see in general. I'm definitely no professional movie critic so I'll just be giving a brief overview of the movie and share my thoughts at the end.

The other day I had somewhat of a Geisha debate with my good friends Bobby & Jenny. I won't go into details on how that chaos started but it did lead me into wanting to watch one of my many favorite movies, Memoirs of a Geisha.

The movie is based on the novel Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. It is narrated by the main character and begins with her as a young girl named Chiyo Sakamoto who is sold into a life of service. Her new life is working in a Geisha house run by Ms.Nitta a.k.a "Mother", there she has befriends another girl who was bought named Pumpkin while having difficulites with Geisha Hatsumomo. The movie continues where one day the young Chiyo is feeling sad about her life gazing off into the river when the man known as Chairmen comes her way along with two other Geishas. His kindness to her makes her desperately determined to become a Geisha to maybe have a chance to be apart of his lifestyle. One day, the Great Mameha(she's apparently Queen Geisha or something, cause when she arrives at Chiyo's place everyones scared shitless) comes to Ms.Nitta's place where she stikes a bargain to train Chiyo to become the most celebrated Geisha in all the town. Soon, Chiyo's name becomes Sayuri, and she in fact does become the most successful and sought after Geisha while having many encounters with the love of her life, Chairmen. These encounters unfortunately are interfered by Mameha's plans for her to get with Nobu or Dr.Crab to place bids on her mizuagi(virginity) due to having a tough rivalry with Hatsumomo. It's now World War II and Sayuri's life as a Geisha is now over, and must endure hard labor on a rice farm. Years later, Nobu finds Sayuri working on the farm and asks for her to return as a Geisha to help entertain the Americans during their stay in Japan. She is reunited with Mameha, Ms. Nitta, Pumpkin and her personal secret love, Chairmen. Sayuri onces again tries for the Chairmens interest, but she is backstabbed by her once friend Pumpkin for an occurence that happend during Sayuri's successful Geisha career earlier in the film. She continues her work as a Geisha where Ms.Nitta tells her a client is waiting for her in the flower garden. The client turns out to be Chairmen where he then confesses that he had planned all along to be with her and that he had asked Mameha for the favor to train her as a Geisha and everything comes full circle. The movie ends with them in an embrace and walking through the flower garden with a final narration from Sayuri. And yeah, thats the basic GIST of the movie.

Alright, now for my thoughts. Let me start by saying this film got six academy award nods, so that already says a lot about it. Memoirs of a Geisha definitely has a fairy tale theme going on in it, and actually, I noticed a lot of similarites to famous fairytales. Chamber maid working with mean step sisters and the fairy God Mother coming to her rescue? Yeah, thats Cinderella. It also has that Little Mermaid theme to it, the mermaid has the dream to become part of the human world. Chyio/Sayuri's goal is to become Geisha so that she may be with her Prince represented in the Chairmen. Or what about Beauty and the Beast? During the film Sayuri has troubles getting to soften the character Nobu, who once hated the very word Geisha, becomes madly in love with her and coming to understand the art of a Geisha (plus Nobu was fuckin' ugly so yeah, TOTALLY Beauty and the Beast). I'm pretty sure that the auther didn't intend to use or perhaps even think of those ideas, he did afterall, base the story off of an actual Geisha who is known as Sayuri in the story. Wheather he did or not, there definitely are those elements in the story that all together weaved a perfect fairy tale. Overall the story is pretty damn good, especially for you romantic freako's. Not only that, but the film itself is visually beautiful, the sets, the clothes, the women, the music, it just bleeds artistic value in evey way. I kind of wish it was in Japanese just because it would have made it seem more authentic. Many complained about the actors not actually being of Japanese decent(My Japanese teacher for one) but I think when it comes to playing as characters in movies, it's important to know that they are not themselves in the film, they are simply portraying someone else so the actors ethnic background shouldn't matter. When watching a movie you're not supposed to think of the truth behind the movie, then of course that makes it seem unrealistic and unenjoyable. The point of watching a movie is to emmerse yourself into that world for a bit and forget about the actual world you are living in for a few hours. People did the same thing about Selena, many complained about Jennifer Lopez' Puerto Rican background when Selena was Mexican. Myself I am Mexican, but I didn't care that Jennifer Lopez wasn't because in the movie she was Selena, she was Mexican in that movie. Anyway enough of that. My ONLY complaint about Memoirs of a Geisha is the usage of Japanese terminology, if your not familiar with any Japanese you might get lost as to what an Okiya, Hanamachi, Mizuage, Danna actually is. Of course if you pay close attention you'll definitely be able to figure it out, but of course some are a tad to lazy to do so haha. In any case, if you haven't seen Memoirs of a Geisha, I definitely recommend it. I think it's a great romance movie, perfect date movie, with a cultural lesson on what the heck a Geisha is.

Happy Aquarium!

Is blogging about a Facebook Application lame? Well if it is I don't care because Happy Aquarium is freaking fun! I try to avoid doing those facebook things because they're total time wasters and I already spend way too much time online. Sure I do quizzes on occasion but never actually play any of the games. My friend Vicki sends me a "Become my Neighbor!" request and the game is called "Happy Aquarium!" So ya know me I love fish and marine stuff and have been an Aquarium hobbyist since I was like 5 or something. Of course I must play this game! It starts with an empty aquarium with a treasure chest containing coins you can collect, the more coins the more fish and decorations you can buy. Pretty much the whole point of this game is to collect coins so you can buy more fish and raise them to become adults and clean the fish tank to level up and become the ultimate fish tank owner. Yeah yeah I know that whole idea sounds lame, and it totally is unless your a fish nut like myself. Anyhow, Happy Aquarium is really fun so if you have a facebook play this game!

Here is how my Aquarium looks right now and its only going to get bigger!

By the way, I noticed this game has an overall salt water theme to it, but two of the fish species you can put in your tank are actually fresh water fish, the Goldfish and Beta! Of course only a fish dork like myself would notice that haha.

GaGa/Kanye are still on! Excited yet Disappointed

Last I spoke of this was in the VMA/GaGa post and how I wasn't sure if the "Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady GaGa" tour was still going after the Kanye/Taylor incident. It's still going and they're coming to San Diego! Now as I said before I really don't like Kanye except for maybe a few songs but LOVE Lady GaGa and her entire album, so as of now it's 50% WANTS TO GO and the other 50% is like...don't go...I missed her first solo tour "The Fame Ball" which came to SD back in March. My Sister Priscilla got to see her when she went to the White Party in Palm Springs, am I JEALOUS or WHAT!? Anykahoots, I'm thinking...to go or not to go that is the question! But then theres still the whole Kanye part...I hear he gives one kickass show but still, Kanye? Of ALL artists him?? Ah well, I probably won't even be able to go anyway since it just so happens I'm going to Disneyland(yay) on the 26th and thats the day the tickets go on sale! Dang, I don't even have the time to think of doing an impulse buy! I've never really really wanted to see an artist in concert until now! The last concert I went to was for Coheed and Cambria with Bobby and Jenny in 2008 and Hilary Duff with my cousin Sabrina in 2003 and both were actually really fun experiences so who knows maybe I will go just for that. I don't even know why I like her so much, of course for her music, but I love looking at all the crazy outfits she comes out with. So what if people think they're all for attention, and even if they are I think it's pretty dang cool her and "The Haus of GaGa" can come up with those car crashes, and as she said before "it's art" and I LOVE art! Plus she supports the Gay Community 100% and admits herself being Bi-Sexual(yay) she even said this to Kanye before they agreed to do this, *looks for the quote* Lady GaGa; "I just want to be clear before we decide to do this together: I’m gay. My music is gay. My show is gay. And I love that it’s gay. And I love my gay fans and they’re all going to be coming to our show. And it’s going to remain gay." So how could I not be a fan? In any case, wheather or not I'm going to this show is still up in the air.

Sudden Friday Plans w/ Bobby & Jenny :)

So today(er yesterday now) is Friday, and I really have no plans to hang out with anyone. I figured I was coming home from work, play around online for a bit and go work out. Bobby(best friend) calls and asks if I want to hang out with him and Jenny(his girlfriend/my friend) at Parkway Plaza. While I was definitely up to it cause I love hanging out with them, this was after work still and it was so sudden I didn't have time to shower and it just so happened Mom needed to head out at the same time (I RARELY exit the house with out showering ESPECIALLY after a hard day of work). So anyway, I change out of my work uniform, put on a baseball cap, a few squirts of cologne and out of the door I go. I meet them in front of theater and we began to walts around the mall and chat about stuff and catch up. We had this hilarious debate on Japanese Geishas and weather or not they were considered whores, prostitutes, strippers etc. (To me, they are moving art forms and okay so what they save their mizuagi(virginity) for the highest bidder. At least they are prostitutes with a high standard!) After that we walked off to Best Buy and Borders and looked around for a bit. By this time was already 9pm and my back started hurting at different times, it would stop, then start, then stop then start, so I was getting pretty restless. We head out to the front of Wal-Mart where we parted ways and said our "see ya laters" and I return home, pop online and here I am now heh. Overall fun day minus the back pain.

The Epic Madonna Fail

Alright now I love Madonna, she's definitely one of my top ten favorite artist of all time. Her concerts are amazing and she's been known to give quite a show. Anyway, I was watching the infamous performance of "Like a Virgin" during The Blond Ambition tour on youtube (Ya know, the one where she simulates masturbation and she has the blond ponytail and coneboobs, yeah classic shit right there) and I LOVE that one! I happen to scroll down and read a few comments from other youtubers and one strikes out at me that says something like; "I LOVE THIS VERSION! I HATED THE GIRLIE SHOW VERSION!" Since I'm so curious I HAVE to go watch it. *Types in "Like a Virgin Girlie Show"* yeah, it starts and I am WOW'ed and NOT IN A GOOD WAY! The whole time I'm watching I'm like "WTF MADONNA WTF!?!? She doesn't even say virgin right! She says fucking WORGIN cause she has some weird French accent in this one! She's not even really singing it, she's like..talking it...and then she starts laughing like a psycho and while I found that hilarious I'm just like "WTF" THE ENTIRE TIME! It ends and I can't believe she did that...yeah, FAIL MADONNA FAIL! I mean yeah, it was unique and creative I'll give it that, but still totally unlike a virgin haha, acutally I take that back it was totally VIRGINAL compared to other performances of it. However a few other performances during this tour were pretty dang amazing. Fever, Rain, and Vogue were really good. Anyway, if you want to watch this wacky, psycho "LIKE A WORGIN" here it is;

Oh yeah, I tell my friend Daniel about it and how much I did not like it. He happens to watch it...and freaking loved it... FAIL DANNY FAIL! XD

Weight Loss Goals

*Sigh* For the last two months I've been really serious about losing weight. I've quit drinking soda, stopped eating fried foods, cut down my suger intake, and have been jogging around Rancho San Diego. It's been hard, but as of now I am back to the weight I was in Sophomore Year of High School, which is good, but I'm still very far from my goal. My goal for each month is AT LEAST 10lbs per/month. Last year during this time I was 335 and I'm now 290 so a 45 pound drop is pretty good since I've been sort of off and on dieting for the past 6 months. The biggest drop was 20lbs between mid-June through August. It's so discouraging when I look at myself shirtless in the mirror and realize how much I still have to go, like it feels like I'm not really losing anything when in reality I am. The other day I almost gave up and said to myself; "Why am I even doing this?" I guess it's just a slow process and I have to be patient. After all as fitness experts say; "Staying healthy and keeping fit isn't a destination, its a lifelong journey." So I'm going to keep pushing! I'm VERY determined this time! On the bright side my blood pressue is normal again, it was getting kind of high not too long ago. By December I plan on having an average weight, so for now my focus is lots of cardio with a little weight resistance. After December I'm going to get another gym membership to 24 Hour fitness to amp up my weight lifting so I could have the cut defined look to my body...My Goal is...average by December...fuckin' hot by summer! I told my friend Daniel that next year I'm going to; "Walk into Pride fuckin' NAKED!" haha well not literally...but mostly...so now I definitely HAVE to stick to this!

My favorite Girls Next Door earn some cool points

If you know me you know I love the E! reality show The Girls Next Door, and if you really know me you know that I'm bi-sexual and support Gay rights. Well anyhoo, here are my two favorite girls next door Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt posing as a lesbian couple getting married for a NO ON H8 Campaign. How cool is that? I kind of wish Kendra was involved in some way, just cause the trio is awesome together, but still seeing Holly and Bridget do this is pretty dang amazing. On a side note Holly tweeted that they were filming Kendra's Baby Shower for Season 6th of The Girls Next Door, which is GREAT so I guess that means there is going to be a 6th season that still stars them three!

Cart Shortage!

Okay, so I'm pretty much fed up with my job. It's like everyday I go in and there are NO CARTS to use! Why aren't there any carts? Because most of them are broken. So why aren't they being fixed? Because the effing owners at lovely Cottonwood Golf Club are barely making the payroll so they can't afford any new carts or any dang parts to fix them! A cart is absolutely necessary for me to get my job done. Lately I've been use the broken picker(A small cart that is used mainly for collecting practice balls in the range), unfortunately it smokes up, gives me major head ache from the polution, and the back bed is so small I can barely carry around any sand in it, so I'm constantly going back to the sand pile to get more sand and its such a waste of time. The crappy thing about this scenario is that not too long ago I actually always had cart to use everyday, it was MY cart, but thanks to Gus'(the guy that works at the Ranch next door) cart breaking, he took my cart because the big boss said so -_- After that my Dad FINALLY fixed me another cart and put a new battery and everything. My thought? "YAY!" Then guess what, Gaudalupe's cart breaks...so since his job is apparently more important then mine...I am cartless AGAIN >_< As of now one of the carts that is usually open for takers (it's usually between me, Nico and Ezequel Jr. who gets it) is getting a new spring because for a while its been entirely lopside and is kind of scary to drive around especially when full of sand! I'm always afraid I'm going to drive on a slanted hill and WOOPS! There goes me and the cart full of sand to the side. In any case, I sure hope more carts will be fixed so every Maintenance employee has one available so they can get their dang jobs done. Anyhow thats that.

The 2009 VMA's and Lady GaGa!

So who was watching the 2009 Mtv Video Music Awards? ME! I'm not really into Mtv or watch any of their shows but I always make sure to watch the VMA's to see some of my favorite artists, one in particular this year, Lady GaGa (big fan). I'll be talking about her a lot and her nuttyself later but first I'm going to give an overview about the highlights of Sunday nights show. It opened up with Madonna giving a pretty long somber speech about the King of Pop, Micheal Jackson and his untimely death. After that Janet Jackson did a dance tribute to him which was pretty nifty, JJ's lookin good. Alrighty now I'm sure you've already heard about the...Kanye West/Taylor Swift incident -_- If I didn't already dislike him this certainly gave me a reason to not like him. Taylor Swift won Best Female Video right, which honestly I thought should have went to Beyonce(Single Ladies) or Lady GaGa(Pokerface) but whatever thats not the point. Kanye, whos known to cause a commotion and complain, gets on stage during Taylor's acceptance speech grabs the mic from her and says; "Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and Ima let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best video's of all time, of all time!" Was that not disrespectful or what? I felt so bad for Taylor as she just stood there confused and walked off the stage looking disappointed. Totally uncalled for of Kanye who was later boo'ed by the audience each time a nomination for him appeared(serves him right). Anyway, major kudos to Beyonce when she won Video of the Year for Single Ladies. She pretty much gave the stage to Taylor Swift so she could finish her acceptance speech. Very classy of Beyonce. See! If Kanye would have kept his big mouth shut he would have got to see his dream girl get on stage and accept the award for VIDEO OF THE YEAR! Whata bozo, and to think poor Taylor had to perform after that! She did a pretty kickass job singing on a moving subway train finishing it off outside Radio City Hall dancing on top of a yellow taxi cab. Other peformances included Green Day and Muse who rocked the show pretty good, I can't say I'm a big fan but they definitely did they're thing and got the crowd going. Beyonce performed Single Ladies for like the millionth time since the past year but I must say this was probably one of her best performances I've ever seen with lasers and booty shakin' galore and boatload(er stage load heh) of girls dancing to the single ladies choreography! Another stand out performance for me was Pink's "Sober" which she sang while performing aerial acrobatics. it was really clever/unique and I applaud her for being able to sing so well while doing all those funky moves in the air! The final major performace was a duet between the ever so lovely Alicia Keys and Jay-Z, together they sang pretty cool tribute to New York city. After that show was pretty much over. The host Russel Brand still annoys me but not so much as last year. Overall I actually really enjoyed this years VMA's they were MUCH better then last years which fell really flat for me. OKAY now it's time for me to talk about my current obsession who is the artsy(literally) Lady GaGa. I wanted to wait until the end cause I have A LOT to say about her! Where do I start? I'll start off by saying she's nuts, but thats only part of what makes her amazing! She arrived with Kermit the Frog as her date(weird, I know) who she kissed several times wearing a pretty interesting outfit, I call this outfit...Gothic Osterich with a touch of Phantom! She certainly stood out in the audience(she was right behind Beyonce by the way). Next, her performance. It starts with the curtain rising and GaGa lying on the floor singing a few bars from "Pokerface" which then turned into the main song that was "Paparazzi" One word...WOW, it had a white theme going on with a modern day victorian style to it. Her outfit was this weird white feathery bunny mask thing with a cut up leaotard with sparkly vest thin covering her chest...I'll call this one...Lady Darko(it was reminiscent of the creepy bunny in Donnie Darko) anyhow, she continued to sing "Paparazzi" she later had dancers remove the Darko mask in a pretty graceful fashion. Nearing the end of the performance she does a short piano solo and bangs her head pretty wildly like she's possessed or some shit. After that she gets up and continues to sing the chorus and then...the chaos starts! Blood begins to fall from her ribcage while she acts out a struggle to continue singing(you can actually hear the audiences gasping at the site of this) the performance ends by her covered in blood hanging by one arm lifelessly in the air in front of bright lights shining through the background. Yeah, that was pretty intense, my Mom and upstairs neighbor had this kind of look on their faces O_O. I'm not sure what the symboloism is of this performance was but I know it has something to do with the paparazzi constantly attacking celebrities. Either way, I must say overall it was an amazing show in all theatricality. One thing I've noticed about Lady GaGa is that her singing has gotten loads better while dancing. A while ago, I noticed she sang live pretty well while sitting at the piano but as soon she gets up to dance it seems as though she stuggles to sing. I've been watching her for a while now and she is definitely mastering her art form with major improvements. After that odd yet wonderful performance, she returns to the audience in another strange outfit, this car crash shall be called...Lacy Red Hot Fire Queen! She had actually to remove the red crown like hat/mask that was covering her face in order to give her acceptance speech for Best New Artist. If three outfits changes wasn't enough she changed yet AGAIN. I must say this next outfit was my FAVORITE. It wasn't even about her actual outfit this time, which was a plain kind of shiny white sequined dress but what she had on her head was...fuckin' EPIC! I'm going to post a picture of it at the end. Pretty much Lady GaGa had transformed herself into a...white bird nest/sea urchin eskimo head! Anyone who wears something like that is a WINNER in my book. I didn't see these next outfits during the actual VMA's but that same night she apparenly changed into this weird outer-spacey kind of dress and then after that ANOTHER change for the after party back into that same sequined dress but with a new head dress that was a needlepoint/satelite dishes covered in a bridal veil or something...WHATEVER it was, it sure was interesting of course hehe! Anyhow, thats enough GaGa talk for the night, I'm SUPER happy she walked away with three VMA's last night, in my opinion she deserved them. I was planning on seeing the GaGa/Kanye tour but after his little stint I wonder if thats even still going, he did say on Jay Leno that he will be taking time off to "analyse" his life or some BS. Either way, I don't know if I could stand seeing him on stage, I don't even really like his music and after what he did to Taylor not sure if I want to go see him even though I'd love to see Lady GaGa...hope she cancels on him! Anyway, thats all for blogging for tonight. This sure was a LONG one! I promise not to make every post like a freakin' essay or anything, I just had lots to say about the VMA's and Lady GaGa heh.

And now here is the AMAZING GaGa bird nest/sea urchin eskimo head look!

I have succumbed to blogging!
