Bank of America can go jump off a building!

A very tall building! I, my friends, am devastated. Let me tell you the little story. So on Monday when I hung out at SDSU with Bobby and Cynthia, I decided since my check was SUPPOSED to go in on the 7th, it would be okay to overdraw from my account. I bought Bobby and I breakfast at Jack in the Box and Cynthia and myself some drinks at Starbucks, since you know, I'm getting paid today. Turns out, my job does not pay me! So I'm already starting to stress because I don't want them to charge me overdraft fee's which is like 35 bucks for each time you overdraw and since it was twice it would be 70 bucks! I'm not worrying about it and I just wait for my check to go in on the 8th. It doesn't go on the 8th! Thanks Cottonwood Golfclub, because you can't pay me on time, I'm going to be short some 80 bucks. Whatever, I don't care, just let them take my damn money and thats it. I finally get paid on the 9th (2 days late, fuck you Cottonwood) and I have to pay rent away. I take out all of my money and leave about 15 bucks in there. That's fine whatever, I can buy myself lunch and maybe go out later. The next morning my Mom asks if she can use my card to buy herself a coffee from 7-11. Now, remember, I'm supposed to have 15 bucks in there. I go to work as usual and I'm thinking of my funds in my head. "Mom spent around 3 bucks so I should have 12 left" I buy my lunch using my debit card. After work comes and I decide I should buy some milk and put some gas in the car. This is where the horror starts. I call my bank to check how much money I have left and...I'm negative $27!!! WTF!?!? I'm immediately pissed off because I KNOW I should have had SOME money in there! I go home and jump online really fast to see where the hell that money went. Turns out they charged me a SECOND overdraft fee from the other day! What the hell!? Tell me how that makes any sense!? I have money in there so you think you can take more for a fee I already paid off? That's fucking bullshit. Because I didn't know my account was overdrawn, since my Mom had bought her coffee and I bought myself lunch, that's going to be 2 more overdraft fees! Right now I'm -97.00 dollars and I think I have one more fee coming...That fucking blows. I called them up to ask if there was anyway to reverse the fee and the lady says; "No, I'm sorry I tried but there is nothing I can do about it..." Yeah, I'm pretty pissed off about it. I don't make much money as it is, I really can't be giving away money like that...so after this next check I'm closing my Bank of America account and going back to Union Bank. I never had a problem with them before. So FUCK YOU Bank of America and your ridiculous overdraft fees!!! And FUCK YOU Cottonwood for not paying me WHEN I'M SUPPOSED TO GET PAID!!! As of now, I'm stressed, but whatever, I'll survive. Vicki is going to take me to see The Princess and the Frog later so I can calm down a bit...In any case, later.

Jeremy's "Patrick Star" moment of 2009

Let's face it, I'm not exactly the brightest crayon in the box. I certainly have my "not-so-smart" moments on a weekly basis. Well, this year I did two very brainless acts that really stood out among them all. One being the time I hung out with my friend Kristine and I grabbed the wrong key to my apartment and got us locked out >_< which was one very embarrassing adventure especially since I had a such a crush on her at the time! The second most idiotic moment happened on Monday morning, and let me tell you this one takes the cake. I had went over to Bobby's house on Sunday night, and so the last time I went over my wallet had fallen behind one of his dressers and I was looking all over his room like crazy. This time I made sure I was going to keep track of all my shit so that doesn't happen again. Before we go to bed I put all of my things that I need for the next day including my wallet in a brown Trader Joes bag. Since it's Monday Bobby has school at SDSU so I wake up around 6:30 and start to get ready. I head to bathroom, brush my teeth, wash my face, change my clothes and return to the room. I grab my Zune and then look in my bag for my wallet. It's not in there. I'm already freaking out because I KNOW I put it in my bag before I went to went. I start searching frantically all over Bobby's room for it and I cannot find it anywhere. At this point, I'm really mad at myself because I tried so hard to avoid losing anything. It's time to leave and I ask Bobby's younger siblings Angie and Joey if they can keep an eye out for it, which of course they say ok and knowing them I can count them to do so. Bobby and I get dropped off at the trolley station and as we wait around I ask him for a couple bucks for the trolley since I don't have my wallet. Bobby has no cash, so he calls him Mom and asks if I can borrow a couple dollars. Which is great because I don't want to risk boarding the trolley with out a ticket and then its the one day security actually ask for tickets. So Bobby's Mom comes back a couple minutes later and he gets the $2.50. We had missed the trolley and I feel bad because I'm making Bobby run a little late, but of course being the best bud that he is, doesn't mind and says its ok. I get my ticket and we hop on the next trolley. We're both listening to our zunes when I decide to replay a song (Alejandro by Lady GaGa). As I put my hand in my pocket I feel something else. It's my wallet. I let out a major sigh of relief which is then followed quickly by a hot rush of embarrassment. I then take it of my pocket and show it to Bobby. I don't even say anything. He looks at it. He looks at me. He shakes his head in disappointment. We both laugh about it, but I feel like a total dork. I must have sub-consciously grabbed it from my bag and put it in my pocket when I was getting ready in the morning. All that trouble and it was in my pocket the entire time. Fail Jeremy Fail! I'm so giving myself the "Worgin Fail Award" of the month. Bobby and I always compare our friendship to SpongeBobs and Patricks, and let me tell you, I definitely see a lot of my self in Patrick Star. 2010 is almost here, so I'm definitely going to try to keep focus and pay attention to every little thing the coming year! In anycase, see ya later!

My Birthday part 2 with Daniel!

A little under a week after my Birthday, my buddy Daniel http://www.rainbowcafe89.blogspot.com wanted to take me out to celebrate! Which is fantastic because we always have a good time chatting/gossiping/waltzing like a couple of dorks in Downtown. It's a Saturday and the plan is to meet at 5pm in front of Jamba Juice @ Horton Plaza, I decide to get there a little earlier just in case Daniel arrives early too. Funny thing happens. I'm pretty much waiting around Jamba Juice/Starbucks for quite some time when I decide to go walk over to where the saxephone player is for a bit. Just so happens Daniel comes right when I leave so we totally missed each other! I go back and wait some more and here comes Daniel and he was all like; "omg where were you!? and I'm all like; "right here!" haha...well apparently not there since we missed each other! Anyhow, so we decide on where we want to go eat Sushi...thus our sushi hunt begins! We walked by like...4 different sushi bars and they were all either too expensive or we've been there before hehe. Finally, we come to this really cute small place called Kiyos on F street and it was PERFECT! It's probably my most favorite sushi restuarant I've been to yet. Very simple and plain, and they had a tv playing with these HILARIOUSLY random Japanese Commercials! Gotta love them Japanese and their interestingnessness! So Daniel and I order our food and chat for a bit, and at this time I decide to open the gift he got me! (Insert 'aww sho shweet' here) It was in a box from Daniel's new job at Aldo wrapped in a pretty green ribbon and bow and inside was a rosary and a pair of really nice sunglasses! Which I think is amazing because 1. I totally needed a new rosary since I lost mine and 2. I need a nice pair of sunglasses since the ones I have are all old and scrathed and just plain UNCOOL! So by this time our food arrives and it was amazing! I officially love udon noodles! It was kind of embarrasing though. I'm going to be honest, I can't use chop sticks to save my life! So when I go to the udon noodles I was having the most difficult time eating my dang noodle soup! This is how bad it got, the waitress actually handed me a fork without me even asking for one! How sad is that? Pretty dang sad! And Daniel was just laughing about haha. After Dinner, which was AMAZING by the way, we decide to go down to the gayborhood! Hillcrest! and at night! Which makes it all the more...scary! So we get there and we're just walking down looking for interesting shops when we come across a rather quaint looking bookstore...as we venture further into it, it turns from simple bookstore to flaming porn shop! It's seriously like two different stores in one! Pretty interesting! We continue down our walts through the gayborhood when we decide its time to head home. We catch the bus to SDSU and made fun of trashy looking women out on the streets. By the time we get to SDSU its getting later and colder (Daniel was molesting the bus trying to get heat from one of the side vents XD). His bus had finally come and thus we parted ways, overall I had a really goodtime with him celebrating my Birthday! Thank you Daniel!

My 21st Birthday :)

November 15th, 2009. Exactly 21 years ago I was brought into this god awful world! Joking heh, it's not that bad ;) Anyhoo, this year for my Birthday I decided I wanted to have a nice dinner with all of my friends! Where? No other place than HOOTERS ^.^ because I love owls, wings and other things! Anyway, so it's a Sunday and I wake up and go to Church as usual, visit Grandpa in the hospital while he recovers from a back injury, say hello to my a few family members and what not. The rest of the day kind of drags on, I'm just waiting to meet all my friends at Hooters in Mission Valley. 5:00pm rolls around and I head off to Hooters! I get there around like, oh 5:20 or so and put in the reservation for Jeremy of course. So I wait around for my friends to arrive, most of them get there around 6:45pm which was good because thats when our table was finally ready! So far its me, Bobby, Jenny, Joey, Kristine, her boyfriend Billy, Brittany, Minh and Melanie. Since I'm 21 tonight Jenny wants to buy me my first legal alcoholic drink! I order a Bloody Mary! HAH of all drinks a BLOODY FUCKIN' MARY!? Well, my whole goal of the evening is to NOT get wasted, and I don't even like beer all too much so a nice tomatoey clammy kinda drink is great...except it didn't have a celery stick! lol anyway, we all order our food, I had the spicy boneless wings with ranch and fries which was good, but not great, it was just okay hehe. So we chat and have a good time. Later on my friend Jose and his friend Rickey arrive which was great (he's trying to beat me in Happy Aquarium btw X_X) anyhoo so we're all having a pretty good time and then Vicki comes along! Which was great because she said she was coming and I didn't see her anywhere for the longest time! Little did I know Bobby had told our waitress it was my Birthday, so at one point during the dinner all the Hooters gals came and sang some sort of Happy Birthday song to me...Yeah I would have LOVED to actually hear what the heck they were saying but it was so loud in there I coulnd't a understand a thing they said! Bobby had recorded the entire charade and the look on my face is just flippen priceless I was so in shock and surprised lol...kinda like...the hell is going on here!? Either or it was nice having a buncha beautiful women singing something to me lol. After that we all finish our dinner so it's time to head home, overall I had a blast on my 21st Birthday and was glad my friends were able to show up but the celebration doesn't end here! My buddy Daniel is taking me out soon to have one of my FAVORITE type of meals...SUSHI! I'm excited ^.^ anyhoo, until next time!

And the Worgin Fail Award goes to...

SHAKIRA'S NEWEST VIDEO FOR "GIVE IT UP" ft. LIL WAYNE!

wtf Shakira...just WTF!? Now, the video for She-Wolf wasn't all that great, it was just OK, but MAN I'll take a She-Wolf over this pile of trash any day! I already didn't like the song too much but this music video just drives it into the DIRT! It's starts off reminding me of a J.Lo sort of style, which isnt bad but so not Shakira...and then it has step dancing choreography (and if you notice all the girls are African-American except for Shakira, which makes me wonder...why exactly?) which I guess is kind of cool and very different from Shakiras normal stuff...but then...the whole thing just DIES when shes dressed up as the Statue of Liberty! Just what the heck is that all about!?!? UGH WHY Shakira WHY!? Shakira is totally being Shafailure right now...which sucks because shes usually pretty dang awesome. So anyway...I've decided this music video deserves the "Worgin Fail Award"...for those who don't know what that is...it dates back to when I saw Madonna's performance of "Like a Virgin" during her 1993 Girlie Show Tour on youtube and how I thought that whole performance was such a failure...Anyway here is the travesty that is..."Give It Up"

Now...to remind everyone that Shakira actually is capable of putting out good material...here is the AMAZING video for her song "Did It Again" The main attraction of this video features Shakira and some random guy doing a sexy kind of battle style dance in a hotel bed room.

November 23rd is NEW ALBUMS day!

Seriously, there are so many cool sounding albums coming out that day! Lady GaGa, Shakira, Adam Lambert, Rihanna and not to mention the Britney Spears singles collection and The Princess and the Frog Soundtrack! SO for this blog I've decided to post all the album covers and give a little review of each one! I'll start with Lady GaGa...just cause she's my favorite of the bunch ^.^

Lady GaGa: The Fame Monster
There are actually two covers for this, one being the Limited Edition version that has the Original The Fame songs along with the new 8 tracks that will be on the standard version of The Fame Monster. The Standard Edition is pretty cool, I'm digging the triangle hairstyle, very Egyptian. In the Limited Edition GaGa has a brunette wig and she's crying make-up or blood or something! Lady GaGa had this to say about the standard cover; "I'm exactly who I say I am, and whats in the past is something that I've had to mourn like a death and so I showed you what I use to look like on my album cover, but it's not because I'm revealing anything. It's just like me saying when you asked me who Lady GaGa was, but even after I show you, it's still not going to show you who I am." So, I guess that means we still don't really know who the heck she is! hehe. Either or, I'm excited! So far I LOVE the first three song's I've heard which are "Bad Romance" "Dance in the Dark" and "Alejandro" and I'm sure the rest will be amazing :)
The Fame Monster

The Fame Monster: Limited Edition

Shakira: She Wolf
Our next album is Shakira's She Wolf. I'm not too crazy about this album cover, it's kind of boring. Then again, Shakira never really has very interesting album covers...OH except for Oral Fixation Vol. 2 Where she looks like Eve in the Garden of Eden and she's holding a bitten apple, I LOVE that one. I guess this one is just OKAY, Shakira looks great as always. I hope this album is good, but then again it's Shakira so it should be amazing! I need to add it to my collection of Shakira albums on my Zune!

Adam Lambert: For Your Entertainment
Our favorite American Idol runner up is the glamourous Adam Lambert! I've heard his first single "For Your Entertainment" and it's pretty amazing, so I hope the rest of the songs follow the same way. I'm not too sure about this cover...kinda trannyish but ever so FABULOUS. It is Glam-Rock at its best and looks totally David Bowie-esque. In any case, lets go Glambert!

Rihanna: Rated R
Honestly, I'm not that big of a fan of Rihanna, she does make great music but anyone ever noticed most of her songs are just remixed versions of older songs? That's not a bad thing, they are good songs, but it's not too original. Anyway, here's hoping her next album is amazing. Cover is pretty good, she looks annoyed or pissed off....she must have still been upset over that a-hole Chris Brown....poor gal :(

Britney Spears: The Singles Collection
^.^ Everytime I read or hear about this it reminds me of my good buddy Daniel http://rainbowcafe89.blogspot.com/ Seriously he LOVES Britney, even went to her concert last month (I know, lucky right?)! Anyway, this an entire box set of Britney Spears' Singles starting from her first "Baby One More Time" all the way to her latest "3". This is actually going to be in 6 different formats; The Standard Edition, CD+DVD, the Ultimate Fan Box Set(all 29 singles), Exclusive Edition-Direct to consumer aaand Digital 45s. Pretty Cool stuff, I do like me some Britney so I just might pick up the CD+DVD set...and hey I think the Ultimate Box set is amazing, if I was a bigger fan of Brit I probably would go for that too! In any case, this looks like quite a collection.

The Princess and the Frog Soundtrack
Being a Disney fan I'm SUPER stoked for this movie! Ever since I was a kid I've loved Disney movies and I am so happy they're finally going back to traditional hand drawn animation. So the soundtrack is coming out a little earlier than the movie which comes sometime in December. So while I'd love to pick this up the day it comes, I kind of want to wait until I see the movie so I will be 100% Surprised. Im really hoping the music for this one is good, Randy Newman is doing the music and I was hoping for Alan Menken (Composer of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules) because he's my favorite Disney composer, but I'm sure Newman did a good job so we will wait and see!

Well kids, that's pretty much all thats coming November 23rd! Excited right? I sure am!
-Jeremy :)

Lady GaGa does it again!

So the video for Gaga's latest single "Bad Romance" finally came out...one word...WOW. She's totally nuts, but thats why I love her. Words cannot even describe this video, it's so creepy yet beautiful, part horror film and part art gallery all combined into a fashion show. This is probably Lady GaGa's best music video, but I think for myself I still like the video for "Paparazzi" the best. I just love the story for that one on how it demonstrates how far some people will go to stay in the limelight. Lady GaGa's videos are definitely getting a lot better, they are evolving from simple party scenes to amazing stories. It's like what my friend Daniel said, all she needed was the money to crank out some pretty bitchin' music videos and like Lady GaGa has said herself numerous times, she is a pop-cultureal performance artist and she's definitely staying true to that 100%. Can't wait for The Fame Monster!
-Jeremy :)

"I wan't your loving and I want your revenge you and me could write a bad romance."

*Oh yeah forgot, watch the ending, its the creepiest thing ever lol.

Video Game Review: Tomb Raider Underworld.

It is the start of November and so I decided to dedicate the first blog of the month to review the latest game in my favorite video game franchise of all time; Tomb Raider. This November Marks the 11th year since I've become a full fledged Tomb Raider fan. Since November of 1998 I've been following video game heroine Lara Croft and her perilous adventures through the tombs and jungles of the world. In that time, I've collected the games, the comics, the cards, the action figures, books and more. Lara Croft has definitely come along way since her break through in the original Tomb Raider(1996) and today she has arrives in the latest installment Tomb Raider: Underworld. Being a Tomb Raider fan I always have high expectations for a new Tomb Raider game, but regardless good/bad to down right horrible Lara Croft always has a place on my gaming shelf. The game Tomb Raider itself has come a ways since the original classic adventures for the Playstation and PC Tomb Raider(96'), Tomb Raider II: Starring Lara Croft(97'), Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft(98'), Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation(99') and Tomb Raider: Chronicles(00'). Having gone through many modifications since Eidos Interactive took the rights away from original developer Core Design after the ill fated Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness(2003) the Tomb Raider of today hardly seems like the game of Tomb Raiders past. Lara's new developer is San Francisco based company Crystal Dynamics, which is known for really good games like Gex and Soul Reaver. They are responsible for the reinvention of the Tomb Raider series with games like Tomb Raider: Legend(06'), the remake of the original Tomb Raider: Anniversary(07') and the latest, Tomb Raider: Underworld(08'). Since the switch to a new developer Tomb Raider fans have been divided amongst themselves having arguing over differences between Core Design Lara and Crystal Dynamics Lara, the game play style, story elements, to even the way Lara Croft looks today and how she’s becoming more and more "Americanized" blah blah blah. Myself, being a veteran fan these days I tend to look passed the differences between old Lara and new Lara and focus on how the current Tomb Raider is as a video game while comparing it to the previous Tomb Raiders but trying to do so without a somewhat bias point of view(which tends to come out anyways). I could go on and on about the nitpicky differences involving the Lara Croft character but today I'm only focusing on the games game play while comparing it to the original and how Crystal Dynamics third try was an...almost charmer.

In this first part I am going to tell the story of Tomb Raider Underworld while giving my thoughts about the stand out moments and overall look of the game. The next part of my review will discuss the game play.

The story continues directly after the ending of Tomb Raider: Legend. Lara, off to find a way to get into Avalon, the resting place of King Arthur in order to seek the answers of her missing/dead Mother. The game open ups pretty differently than past Tomb Raiders. Croft manor is on fire and Lara must navigate a way through to find an exit. The first part actually serves as a quick tutorial, which was different, you also have no idea what the heck is going on so that made it more interesting. After the quick tutorial it flashes to one week earlier where Lara is out at the Mediterranean. Lara then finds an under water structure where she faces a giant kraken that needs to be killed in order to get into the next area. I was kind of disappointed in this section, mainly because in all the trailers and demos it showcases underwater combat against a few sharks, perhaps they just weren't in the PS2 version, still I was pretty bummed as there were only jellyfish floating around in this section. As the game progresses Lara comes across Thor's gauntlet. Upon going back to the surface Lara encounters Amanda Evrets(The baddy in Legend) ship, and inside she meets up with her first nemesis, Queen of Atlantis Jacqueline Natla. Natla then tells Lara that she needs Thor's hammer in order to enter the Norse underworld, Helheim, which is just another name for Avalon. I kind of don't like the fact that they used Natla in this game. She was after all the very first of Lara Croft's foes and supposedly Lara had killed her off in the original. But whatever, again this is a whole new developer, so thing's aren't going to follow as before. The next big section is Thailand. Thailand was probably the most beautiful of all the areas in Underworld, very green with lots of detailed plants and a few ferocious Tigers. Here, Lara comes across Bhogavati, which some sort of magical Hindu place (I'd love to elaborate, but I really don't know too much about it). After discovering the second of Thor's gauntlets. Lara is headed back to her own house where she then finds out her father had left a few clues and apparently underneath in a secret Chapel are the clues that lead to the location of Thor's Belt...What a bloomin' coincidence. This part reminded me a lot of the first Tomb Raider movie where Lara is led to find the Clock of Ages in a secret storage area in her home after having a dream involving her Father. It kind of irks me because Crystal Dynamics had changed Lara’s Fathers name from Lord Henshingly Croft to Lord Richard Croft, which was the name of Lara's father in the first Tomb Raider movie. They also made her home exactly as it was in the film, which was cool I must admit, since it's almost an exact 3D replica of the movie mansion. So while that did bother me, it wasn't really a surprise they used a few TR movie elements in this game. As a whole this was only part of what bothered veteran fans as they totally changed Lara's original biography and her entire relationship with her parents. Changes already began as early as the first Tomb Raider movie, and that’s when Core Design still had the rights! Damn...I said I wasn't going to go into the differences and continuities but I already did! ANYWAY hehe, after finding out the Location of Thor's Belt, Lara returns above the ground to her home and it's on fire! This is where the explanation of why it's on fire from earlier comes in. It's Chaos! Lara finds Winston and Zip, and Zip is trying to kill her! Only though, because a clone like Doppelganger created by Natla is the one responsible(of course, they don't know this...yet) after Zip and Winston make it out, Lara stays inside to watch surveillance video only to come in contact with the doppelganger herself. Unfortunately the doppelganger kills Alistair(One of Lara's assistants). Though Lara is upset over the death of Alistair as a women in desperate need of answers she continues onward, which causes some friction between her and Zip. We are now in Mexico, and it's rainy but beautiful, Crystal definitely did a good job at was put lots of focus on the graphics and detail in the locations of this game, and I'm only playing the PS2 version. I can't even imagine how much nicer the PS3 or 360 versions look. This was another section that had a few things cut out of it, supposedly there were going to be these giant Spiders, but nope, like two panthers and a few of the Mythical Thralls(Norse myth glowy like weird creatures). I actually really enjoyed the whole Mexico segment, the whole segment involved Lara's Motorcycle and you actually needed it to finish the levels and complete the puzzles. I really liked that idea it was a nice throwback to past Tomb Raiders where you needed a vehicle of some sort to get through a level or two. We finally find Thor's belt in the Mayan Underworld called Xibalba and we are now ready to go after the Legendary Hammer! The next of Lara's many destinations is Jan Mayan Island. The puzzle in this place was pretty good, it actually me stumped for a few...minutes lol, the majority of the level involves jumping from two swinging pendulums to get across to other rooms, this actually got me dizzy a few times! After the puzzle that encompassed the full level we finally retrieve...THOR'S HAMMAR! So, since we now have...Thor's Gauntlets, his belt and most importantly that blasted hammer we can now head to Arctic Sea to annihilate Natla for the second time! Oh...I totally jumped the gun...the reason we must kill her off is because she plans on using the Midgard Serpent in attempt to destroy the world...again. Cliché right? Ah well, Lara's gotta do what she’s gotta do. As we find the underwater sanctum Lara enters a large chamber with Natla blasting a few bolts at us while we must take down the Midgard Serpent whilst our once foe Amanda is helping us by killing off lots of ogre like thralls. The final part of the game is basically a giant puzzle that takes down a giant mechanism aka The MIDGARD SERPENT! Honestly I thought I was actually going to have a one on one battle against Natla, but after you take down the parts to machine its the end of the game. The final cut scenes roll where Lara throws the big shiny hammer into the breaking machine while it takes down Natla with it (insert big boom shiny things here) and Lara and Amanda finding their way back to the Himalayas where Lara had lost her mother. The final shot is Lara uttering "rest in peace mother" as the camera pans backward while an updated version of Lara Crofts theme plays in the background. *Roll Credits*

OKAY, now to talk about the actual game play of it all. Sorry, this post is totally going longer than I thought it would. In the first level again I was really upset about the sharks not being there, it was one of the highlights the makers of the game were talking about with underwater gunplay and all the fancy physics involved. Yet then again, this is PS2 version, so I'm pretty sure 360 and PS3 had some sharks! My initial thought was; "Oh well maybe the sharks will come later." They didn't. Now one thing that Crystal D nailed this time was how a Tomb Raider puzzle is supposed to work. They got the idea that a Tomb Raider puzzle isn't just a level with a bunch of quick little simple puzzles you solve in each room to get to the next room, a true Tomb Raider puzzle is one that encompasses the entire level. So it doesn't really feel as if you're solving random puzzles, you're solving it just by running around pulling levers and finding keys to get to the next level, rather than figuring out how to push a few blocks over a pressure pad in order to get to the next room, and while Underworld did have a few of those, it definitely wasn't as much as in Legend, because Legend was filled with only those kinds of puzzles. I think they figured this out when they redid the original Tomb Raider, because Anniversary was modeled almost exactly after the original Tomb Raider, so of course the puzzles are going to be done the same way. I must admit, I was stumped on a few of the puzzles in Underworld. Particularly the first one involving the Kraken, once in Mexico(which is a HUGE level) and the pendulum one in Jan Mayan Island. It definitely reminded me of the good ol' days of Tomb Raider where I would spend hours looking for a way to get to the next area and run around in circles forever, but I can't say these puzzles had me stuck for hours, but definitely way longer then the easy puzzles of TR:Legend. So as for the puzzle aspect of Tomb Raider: Underworld, Crystal Dynamics did a pretty good job this time around. Now, time to talk about the combat...Okay, I'm going to say this once; Tomb Raider was never about combat, it's always been more about exploration and puzzle solving, but man, Crystal Dynamics definitely took that a whole new level. I was so surprised at how little action there was in this game! There's literally none in the first few hours and when you finally get to Thailand you get to plink off a few Tigers and then 1 or 2 Panthers in Mexico and a few more Thralls in the rest of the game! Oh and there is quite a few men when you board Natlas boat but they were pretty simple to kill off anyway. Now this is just an estimation, but going back to the original Tomb Raiders, I'd say TR1-5 is about 60% exploration and puzzle solving and 40% is combat and boss battles. In Tomb Raider: Underworld it felt like 85% puzzle and exploration and about 15% combat. Lara Croft definitely did not use her guns much in this adventure. It also wasn't about how little action there was, but the combat that was there so simplistic. Pretty much you ran around and enemy and shot a few shots and that’s it, sure its more realistic, but it almost felt as if you didn't really do anything. The combat kept me wanting more and I kept not getting it. Now while the original Tomb Raiders for the PC and Playstation weren't combat based games, the combat that was there was pretty dang amazing. You actually needed a strategy in order to kill off enemies. Back then Lara Croft's acrobats were very useful, you could fight off over 5 or 6 baddies at once and do so while side flipping, back flipping and rolling around all over the place to dodge enemy attacks, not to mention the enemies back then were a lot harder to kill. The combat in Underworld reminds me a lot of Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness...pretty much in that game you could run around and fire your guns as fast you could to kill an enemy, but instead of doing that here, enemies died pretty quick with out the need to button smash the R1 button while Lara Crofts acrobatics moves were pretty pointless...pretty to look at...but not needed. It's kind of a bummer because I thought the combat in both Legend and Anniversary was pretty okay, and in Underworld it seems as though it's been dumbed down a bit. Another big surprise and a first in Tomb Raider history was that there were NO BOSS BATTLES. Like...none...at all! Shocking...Nearing the end I thought there would be at least the final showdown against Natla, nope, you just take down that big machine and the end. But about the combat overall, I will say this again, this is the PS2 version I am playing and I am pretty sure they cut a lot of the combat out. So this review is solely basing the game from the PS2 version, ya'll can go read reviews of the PS3 and 360 versions of the game. Anyhoo, moving on from the combat, another major issue I had with this game was the amount of bugs and glitches it actually had. It's pretty surprising considering this is Crystal’s third Tomb Raider and also the fact that both Legend and Anniversary had very few if any bugs or glitches. These weren't tiny glitches that you could just ignore either, these glitches would actually make you restart the game because it would freeze or Lara would get stuck somewhere. I kid you not, the first 5 minutes into the game I got stuck in a rock while trying to get a key of sorts in the Mederterranean Level. Other bugs I noticed were let's say Lara needed to jump to a ledge or pillar, sometimes she would be catch it a couple spaces away from where she needed to land thus causing her to appear as if she is floating in mid air. I can't say Underworld has as many glitches as Angel of Darkness did, but it is probably the more glitchy of all the Tomb Raiders. Still it's pretty bad considering how far along gaming has come. We are too far advanced to still see as many bugs crawling around in today’s games. The final problem I had with this game was...It's too short! That was actually the main issue with Legend and Anniversary, critics said they were great games, but way too short, and I definitely thought Underworld would be a little longer and it wasn't. Other than those 3 details, I must say I actually enjoyed playing Underworld more than Legend or Anniversary. In terms of exploration and puzzle solving Underworld definitely feels like a classic Tomb Raider adventure, I just wish the combat was a little better. Another positive for me was the storyline, while it does stray away from Classic Tomb Raider status on how it involves Lara's Parents and contradicts Lara Crofts original background, the story for Underworld is a nice follow up to Legend, even though I thought a few things were kind of a rip off heh. The script writers did a good job as well as the voice actors lending their voices to make the dialogue between characters seem believable. One of the things Tomb Raider always has to offer are memorable quotes. A few favorites from Underworld were when Lara and Zip are arguing and Lara says; "I need Thor's belt to find Thor's hammer, and I need that hammer to kill a god!" or when Lara Croft thinks she found her Mother again only to be deceived she says to herself "No, that's not my mother, my Mother died, my Mother is dead." and she’s forced to shoot her back. That scene really humanized Lara Croft and made her seem like a believable human being which was definitely a first and that scene was one of the more emotional scenes in the game and probably one of my favorites of all the Tomb Raiders. OH! I forgot to mention! The story for Underworld was actually nominated for a BAFTA award, so that pretty says more than I need to hehe. Another good point of Underworld is the music, my God it's beautiful, particularly the scores for Thailand and Mexico. I also LOVED the updated version of Lara Croft's theme song. It has come along ways since the simple electronic sound of 96's Tomb Raider. I also loved how they incorporated it into the final scene, it was very reminiscent of the last scene of Angel of Darkness(one of my favorite ending scenes). The theme song for Underworld has become one of my favorites, of course the theme for Tomb Raider III still remains my top favorite of Lara's theme songs but this version definitely comes close. The overall ambience of Underworld is great too, you can tell Crystal spend a lot of time composing the score for it and put detail into every location so they don't all sound similar, which was kind of an issue in past Tomb Raider games.

In the end, I think I pretty much summed all of Tomb Raider: Underworld. Pros: Good Puzzles and Exploration, Beautiful Graphics and details, Good Story and Voice Acting, wonderful music. Cons: Combat is meh, lots of glitches, no boss battles and still way too short. So while I think this game is half amazing and half crappy, I'm on the border of giving it a 2.5/5 but...the stronger points definitely over power the weaker points, so I've decided to give Tomb Raider: Underworld a solid 3/5. Not bad, not great, about the same as Legend and Anniversary, but slightly better. It definitely seems as though Crystal Dynamics are headed on the right track with Tomb Raider, and I'm hoping the next one will be even better. Sad to say, I don't think Tomb Raider: Underworld is worth the original 59.99 dollar retail price for the newer consoles, it's just too short for that amount of money. However, it was definitely worth the $19.99 I spent on it for the PS2 version. Whenever I get a PS3...If I ever get a PS3...I'm definitely going to play that version as well, I probably won't give a review as I did for this one, since I'm sure it's not that different. Anyhow, until the next Tomb Raider game, see ya then and thanks for reading.

My fun Weekend...starring ME...co-starring Daniel, Bobby & Jenny!

October 24th,2009
After the long poor, depressing 2-week period between October 7th through October 22nd, payday finally came! So one of things I had planned out was to see Daniel since it had been FOREVER and I wanted to take him out for his Birthday (YaY Happy Birthday to him he is offically out of the teens and into the roaring 20s) Which was on the 2nd...and it's already Saturday the 24th! The plan was to meet at around 5pm, so I get to Horton a little early and wait around Starbucks and Jamba juice for Daniel. He comes and we then head off to Sushi Deli. Let me tell ya, Sushi Deli is amazing...it's really cheap and really good, but they're only open from like 5-9...weird I know but they sure do some serious buisness between those four hours! After that, we head on out and walk around downtown for a bit and chat about all sorts of things! Some of which maybe be too inappropriate for my younger viewers! Okay no, not really but we sure did have a blast! We walked over to Starbucks and chat some more. We were there for quite a while, being all loud and shit, we noticed the people around us we're getting a little irritated...OH YEAH! In the midst of our Starbucks chat I had to pee...so I go to the bathroom and it's not locked cause it uses tokens...and there is a guy in there taking a crap! SO EMBARRASSING for me and the guy! LOL Yeah...I didn't have to pee anymore after that...and then he walked out and gave me a dirty look...but hey its not my fault that Starbucks uses bathroom tokens! It's getting late so it's time for Daniel and I to part ways. I walk him to the trolley station where we chat some more cause the dang Trolley took FOREVER! It came we said our goodbyes and I walk my way back to Horton to head home...Overall FUN SATURDAY WITH DANIEL!! ^.^
October 25th, 2009
After the fun Saturday Night with Daniel, it's now Sunday morning. Mom went to Church and to be honest I was way too tired to go. I stayed home doing not much of anything for quite some time. I had kept calling Bobby to ask if we we're still hanging out, but what I didn't know was that he had to work that day lol. Anyway he calls back and says that we are stil hanging which is great! 5pm rolls around and I meet up with Bobby and Jenny at Parkway Plaza, we chat and what not, catch up on a few things. Since it's Sunday the mall closes early at 7pm so we head on over to Borders Book Store and walk and talk around Borders for a while. Bobby wanted to buy some menudo, so the three of us journey over to Target...and Target totally fails at stocking menudo! Luckily...there is a Food 4 Less right next door! After we grab a few cans of Menudo Jenny drops Bobby and I off at my place. We cook our Menudo and order Pizza! Bobby and I always have a blast whenever we hang out, so it was a night full of random shit goofing off and what not...watching cartoons and porn bloopers LOL It's getting late and Bobby has school in the morning so we go to sleep around 1am. Monday morning is here so Bobby and I groggily wake up so we can take him to the Trolley...The weekend was over pretty fast but it sure was a ton of fun :) Until next time!

More kids for Angelina and Brad!?!

The topic title definitley sparks a "WTF!?" right? I'm not sure if this is true or not but yesterday during my shopping spree at Wal-Mart I saw a magazine with Angelina on the cover and giant yellow letters saying; "2 MORE BABIES ON THE WAY!" -_- wtf right?? Do they NEED more kids?? Is it absolutely necessary to have MORE children? No, it's not! Ya'll have what...six kids already? Again, I'm not sure if this is true or not, I didn't care to read the magazine and now I've been searching the web for answers but can't find any yet! Now I love me some Angelina Jolie but in the good words of Jennifer Aniston, this is just really "uncool." They already have the freaking Brady Bunch, what more do they need? Ah well, who am I to say what they should or should not do right? Besides the Jolie-Pitts are rich right? Guess they can afford all those kids. It's also not like they're the Octomom or Jon and Kate Gosselin who do it for attention, money and fame...they already have all that! Ah well, whatever makes them happy I guess...in that case...keep the babies a comin'!

The Monster Ball Tour Starring Lady GaGa!

I probably should have updated the Kanye/GaGa post, back then I was talking about how that tour was still going on even after the Kanye/Taylor Incident, as we all know it was inevitably canned as mutual decision by both Lady Gaga and Kanye "supposedly". Anyhow, just becuase that was over that doesn't mean Gaga isn't going to tour! She is now doing a solo tour with opening act Kid Cudi called "The Monster Ball". Am I excited or what!?! Tickets go on sale tomorrow ^.^ but I'm not sure if I'm going to have enough money...either way I'm DEFINITELY going to try to go! I REALLY want to try to get the meet and greet package(which will probably cost a boatload of money) but shoot if this means I have to work the corner of El Cajon Blvd I'm going regardless if I can afford it or not!!! I've heard her two new singles off the new "Fame Monster" album and they are amazing! Bad Romance and Alejandro are pretty dang awesome, in fact, I think they will be her next big hits! If not number 1 at LEAST top 10 status on the Billboard hot 100. The Fame Monster is basically a repackaging of the her debut album "The Fame" but it has 8 new songs, which is pretty much a new album anyway. December 19th is the concert so Gaga here I come!

Shopping withdrawls!

Alright, it's probably not a good idea for me to have money...because as soon as I get some I go spend wild! Okay, not really, but If I can afford to(which is almost never anyway) I definitely like to blow a few bills. Like yesterday, I went to Burlington Coat factory to buy some new shorts because since I've been losing weight everyone has been complaining that my shorts are getting too big and baggy. Really, I'm not much of a clothes shopper, I buy new clothes like once a year if that lol. So anyway, Burlington had NO shorts! They did, but nothing I liked! It was like a short shortage! I guess because it is the colder seasons, but myself I almost never wear pants, I have like...5 pairs of jeans that I don't wear often. I'm very much a "shorts" kind of guy. Anyway, since Burlington disapointed me I decide to go look at Wal-Mart for some clothes. Now I NEVER go to Wal-Mart to buy clothes, thats like a big NO for me, but since I've been running on such a budget why not right? I go to the forbidden clothes section and I was pretty surprised! They had a nice selection of jeans and shorts for good prices (it is Wal-Mart afterall). I decided to buy these Navy Blue Dickies shorts which were $20 so that wasn't so bad, they are really nice and comfy ^.^ I almost bought this really nice white dickies button up shirt...but I changed my mind when I walked up to the Video Game Section and I saw BOTH Indiana Jones AND...*drumroll* TOMB RAIDER UNDERWORLD for only 20 bucks each! For the longest time I've been avoiding buying the new Tomb Raider because I've been waiting to just get a PS3 and then get the PS3 version of the game, which was supposed to be my first PS3 game. It's been almost a year since Tomb Raider Underworld came out, let me tell you, it has been utter devastation not being able to play the latest Tomb Raider game! I have afterall, bought each Tomb Raider game on it's initial release day ever since Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, so this was like...a record for me or something! Anyhow, while I am kind of bummed I caved in for the PS2 version, I'm happy because at least I get to play it ya know? So the graphics aren't as pretty as the PS3 version, it's generally the same thing. I'm definitely going to post my thoughts and review when I finish it. After Tomb Raider I'm going to start playing Indiana Jones and the staff of Kings to see how that one is, should be fun since it's along the same lines of games like Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia. I also bought a new Kingdom Hearts Poster ^.^ I was looking through the poster section I was like; "*GASP* I have to buy that!" It's pretty cool, it's basically the cover of the Kingdom Hearts II which is nice. Probably post it up later tonight. Anyway, my shopping withdrawls have definitely been cured :) Now...I'm off to go play some Tomb Raider!

Meredith Vieira has her needs too!

Oh my Lord, I would have never ever thought I'd ever blog about...Meredith Vieira, but wow is this blog worth material or what?! Pretty much Meredith loses all composure and just jumps all over this Navy Pilots nuts on "Who wants to be a Millionaire". She even goes on to say; "I'm an old horny woman! Give me a break!" Is it even okay to just gush all over National television like that? I sure don't know, but I suddenly like Meredith that much more now, homegirl knows what she wants and lets it be known! Just watch!

Lara Croft isn't that smart...

God knows I love the Tomb Raider games and the Lara Croft character...but this image of 2003's Angel of Darkness never fails to CRACK ME UP! Why oh why Core Design did you allow this screen shot to grace the gaming media? Just look at this!

OKAY! Let's sneak around in front of a see through mesh fence and hope the gaurds don't notice us! Not very smart Ms.Croft! I guess I will "excuse" Core Design for letting this one out, it was an early screen shot and didn't even make it into the final version of AOD anyway, but as for bugs and overall Lara Croft mistakes this one takes the cake.

Going to get CONTACTS!

I've decided after almost 4 years of not wearing contact lenses I'm going to set up an appointment for the eye doctor to get re-fitted for contact lenses. Everyone (except for Vicki) tells me I look so much better without my glasses, which I feel is true I do think I look better without my specs. Since I've been so broke lately I'm going to wait to set the appointment until November 22nd, that way I'll have the money to pay for both the doctor visit and for the lenses and let me tell ya those things are not cheap! I'm pretty excited, I actually like wearing contact lenses even though they are way more of a hassle to put on where as glasses you just grab and stick right on your face. It's totally worth the hassle, when I have my contacts on they definitely boost my confidence level. The reason I had originally stopped wearing my contacts was because they had given me a new prescription and for some reason the contacts weren't agreeing with my vision. I could see far distances and open spaces but as soon as I was in my house or anywhere inside a room my vision would blur really bad. So I'm hoping the next time I go to the eye doctor they give me the right prescription and the right kind of lenses to fit my eyes and they don't tell me I have some weirdo eye problem. In any case, I'm adding this contact buisness to my personal...re-invention haha. I'm completely changing my style by the New Year. I am going to be 21 soon so I think it's time to better my appearance. Anyhow, until next time!

Let It Be...

So yeah, this two week gap between October 7th and October 22nd has totally been sucking big cactus! Seriously, my Mom and I have never been so BROKE! All thanks to rent which sucked both our checks like no other. We definitely need to budget better, we are BARELY making it each day where some days we don't even eat much! Dang this recession! I feel so POOR it's crazy. Though we have no money, I must look at the bright side. We still have a roof over our head and beds to sleep in and we're not down with some sickness. And hey, to be completely optimistic this 2 week fasting period is totally helping my weight loss :D My anthem for October has been the song "Let It Be" by The Beatles...if I have no money...let it be...If I'm starving...let it be...if I feel so miserable because of this...well damnit I'm going to let it fucking be! Today is the 14th so only 8 more days until Pay Day...We will make it wooooo! In any case, here is Let it be...

To Continue The Beatles discussion...or...spinning off to John Lennon, I LOVE the song "Imagine" and the video made for it. It's so simple and plain featuring John Lennon and Yoko Ono in a white room with the two of them together sitting at Piano...Iconic stuff right here.

Of course this is the most shitty quality of it and features Spanish subs (which is great I guess for my Spanish only viewers...LOL)...All the good videos had their dang embedding diabled! >_<

Feeding Spiders :D

I'm officially calling myself a weirdo. Can you guess why? Because at work after I finish eating lunch or wait around the shop to get picked up I go in the "Kitchen" area(It basically has a fridge, microwave and a big sink) and feed the Daddy Longlegs some Red Ants! One day I just wanted to see what would happen if I threw a red ant into the spiders web and wow was I ever ammused! I was so intrigued by watching the bigger spider wrap it's prey into a cocoon and then watch it eat when it was finished. It was mildy disturbing as the ant was still alive inside of the cocoon wiggling around while the spider is sucking the life out of it. Is that cruel? I don't really think so, its the Circle of Life and I'm just speeding the process! I sure would not be saying that if I was red ant though LOL. Besides there are litterally THOUSANDS of ants and red ants all over the place, and I'm sure they're making lots more in their little ant colonies. So I've basically made the bigger spider my little pet. Every day now I go out and find a few red ants and fling them onto the webs. It's the same idea as when people have pet snakes or scorpions and they feed them mice and fish! Anyhoo, there are the three main spiders in the web. The big enchilada and two smaller ones, once I threw about 4 red ants into the web and the big one wrapped two red ants in one cocoon! Let me tell ya these are pretty big ants too! The two smaller ones have a harder time wrapping the ants up since the ants put up a pretty good fight, but they still get the job done. I want to see how big the bigger one will get...think I'll give him a name...Not exactly sure what I should call it though... Anyway, until next time!

Annoying Golfers!!

Wow, I feel like everytime I blog about work its because I'm really annoyed or irritated. Maybe one of these days I'll actually blog about the positives of working at Cottonwood, because believe it or not there are a few nice perks that come with working there. MAYBE I'll blog about that one day, MAYBE. But today I'm going to bitch about...ANNOYING GOLFERS!!! Most of the time the Golfers are friendly nice elderly people who say "Hello" or "Have a nice day" and the occosional Spanish attempt at "HOLA!" or "MUY BUENO AMIGO!" (totally funny as I don't even speak Spanish). Now while those golfers are GREAT, sometimes a total bitch a-hole comes along...Like TODAY this younger golfer who looked an awful lot like Bam Margera stops me and was like; "Excuse me is this a lake?" and as I was answering.."Yes, this one of the..." bitch cuts me off and was like "WELL THERES NO WATER IN IT SO IT'S NOT A LAKE!" O_O I begin to respond nicely as to why it's not filled with water; "Well, the reason why it's not filled with..." CUTS ME OFF AGAIN; "I DON'T SEE HOW IT'S A LAKE IT'S JUST A BIG HOLE!" *speechless* His golf buddy comes along and says; "Oh there actually is some water in it." In an asshole way I look at the Golfer who snapped at me and say; "YEAH THERE'S FISH IN IT TOO!" I drive off and whisper "ass-hole" under my breath. Geeze whata doucheball, if he actually was Bam Margera I could have called him a Jackass and it would have been totally legit. That's just one of the few a-holes I've come across, another one was this dumb old guy who cussed me out because he got lost looking for the Tee-Box because he couldn't read the giant the sign that said; "NUMBER 16 THIS WAY ---->" and said I should "do something useful" by fixing the sign...LOOK JERKFACE, I'M BEING USEFUL BY MAKING THE ROADS NICE AND SMOOTH SO YOU WON'T HURT YOUR OLD BACK DRIVING OVER POT-HOLES AND ROAD BUMPS! Of course I didn't say that, but I sure did feel like it! What a maroon...Anyhoo like I said those golfers are rare, as most of them are quite friendly. But yeah, nuff said about that!

Lady GaGa vs. Madonna! XD

Saturday Night Live was on last night, and really I don't watch it too often but one reason I definitely tuned in last night was to watch Lady GaGa perform a few songs. What I didn't know was that she was going to be in a few skits and one was with Madonna! A suprise or what as both are a few favorite artist of mine. The skit overall was OK, it was mildly funny but I think it was pretty cool to see the two of them together in a stint of them battling it out in all Pop Diva style. I must say at 51 Madonna still looks damn good, though my Mom had this to say about her; "SHE'S TOO OLD TO BE DRESSING LIKE A HO STILL!" but hey I say if you still got it why not right?! After the skit, Lady GaGa performed "Paparazzi" first, and then near the end of the show she sang "Lovegame" wearing this outfit inspired by the rings of Saturn. After that song she went to the piano and began to sing a few lines from her upcoming single "Bad Romance"(she had a hard time sitting at the Piano because of the outfit haha). She then continued to sing the acoustic version of "Pokerface" combined with a song dedicated to her life in New York City. She was in a final skit with Andy Samberg where the two of them were wearing that hilarious Bubble outfit. The show was over and I was pretty happy I saw it, sure is nice to see Lady GaGa rock the stage! Anyhow, here's the Lady GaGa vs. Madonna skit :D

"Fore" doesn't really work skanks -_-

At my job it's pretty much engrained in your employment contract that you will most likely be hit with a golf ball at least once during your time working at a Golf Club...okay, no it's not really in your contract, but it's something you should definitely expect! I've actually been hit once in the shoulder before and it's not fun, it STINGS like no other! A golf ball flys right past me at least once or twice a week, so I'm kind of use to it. Now, most of the time if a golf ball is heading right towards you the old foggey that hit it will usually yell "FORE!" at the top of his smokey lungs as a warning to WATCH THE FUCK OUT! Yeah, that doesn't really work anyway, by the time the golfer realizes his ball may hit someone and yells "FORE" the golf ball is already mid-way in the air between you and the person who hit it. SO, by the time the person who may or may not get hit realizes "OH! SOMEONE YELLED FORE! THAT MUST MEAN A BALL IS COMING MY WAY! WHAT DO I DO!? DUCK!? JUMP!? RUN IN CIRCLES!?" There really is nothing you can do but kind of crouch and hide your head especially if you don't know which direction the ball is coming from, which is 90% of the time anyway, and HOPE the ball does not hit you. If you do happen to get hit, be ready for some pain that will last a couple days...and a giant bruise somewhere. Upon hearing "Fore" it's best to NOT look for the flying ball of death because if you do that, chances are you might look right at it and WAM! Smash your handsome face right in, and we definitely do not want to lose an eyeball or have a broken nose or a giant welt somewhere on your face.

In any case, I guess "Fore" can be looked as a way of saying; "I apologize if my ball hits you, at least you know I warned your sorry ass." Or, as a way of letting everyone know your golf skills suck so bad you can't hit it towards the green WHERE ITS SUPPOSED TO GO!

Aurora Borealis

One of the earths natural wonders I would love to see one day are the Northern Lights also known as Aurora Borealis. Basically they are these pretty bright lights that shine in Alaska or some random place like Polar areas or something...and they are quite a sight to see! This phenomenon happens when the Earth's magnetic field collides with solar wind...what ever the hell thats supposed to mean. I don't know really how to explain it...it's way too scientifical for me! All I know is they are interesting and beautiful and I want to see them! It's very Final Fantasy like!

Aint they purdy?

This one looks like the Angel of Death from the Ten Commandments movie!

Indie GaGa

The other day I was on youtube and I came across this piece of history. Lady GaGa when she was an independent artist and her band was known as the "Stefani Germanotta Band". Generic or what? This was back in 2006 so she was around 19 or 20. Hah, bet she would have never known three years later she would become one of the biggest names in Pop music. She looks totally different, she looks so Un GaGa, she looks so...normal! But who likes normal these days? I sure don't. Her old style of music seems very Michelle Branchy/Vanessa Carltony like.

Disneyland with Vicki

The last time I went to Disneyland was for my 18th Birthday almost three years ago. Since then I've been planning another trip to Disney and finally the plans have come alive! Originally it was supposed to be Vicki, Bobby, Joey and myself but Bobby couldn't make it and since he's not going its like 100% Joey can't go either. Since we now had a few extra seats in the car my Mom decides to invite our upstairs neighbors Grace and James. Which was perfect so my Mom wouldn't go walking around Disney by herself. Anyways, yesterday morning came and I woke up at 6:15am and got ready to head on to Disney! We picked up Vicki on the way and thus our journey to Anaheim began. We got there relatively fast considering we stopped for breakfast at Carls Jr. It's now 10am and we FINALLY get into the dang parking structure! I kid you not it took us an extra half hour looking for the Disneyland parking lot entrance since the main entrance was closed. We hop off the car and Vicki and I are excited! This was her first time going since she was like 4 years old or something so she was pretty stoked. By the time we got to the gate, we parted ways with my Mom and Neighbors and off we go into the Magic Kingdom! The first thing in Disneyland is Main Street USA but since we're so excited we skip all the shops since thats usually what you do when you're leaving Disney. I decided to take Vicki on the Indiana Jones Adventure, one because thats like my favorite ride ever two because I need to test the waters on how Vicki does with faster rides (she's not a big fan of coasters). We get there and the line is closed for a little bit! I'm kind of bummed and I hope the ride isn't closed off the rest of the day. So instead I take her next door to the Jungle Cruise ride. This isn't the most exciting ride but I usually do it anyway just to complete most of the rides at Disneyland. We got off and Vicki was like; "THAT WAS THE MOST BORING THING EVER!" So I'm like fine, we will go on the UN BORING ride next! Indy was still closed so we walk around on Tarzan's Treehouse. I remember when it use to be the Swiss Family Robinsons Treehouse, but I guess since thats apparently outdated they changed it to Tarzan, which is fine since I like Tarzan but I'm sure fans of the original treehouse aren't too happy about it. We get off that and Indy Jones is re-opened! I love the theme of this ride it's very Tomb Raider-esque, even while waiting around in line it's pretty interesting. We get on and the ride begins and zoom we're off traveling through the forbidden temple! Fun or what? YES! We get off and Vicki was like that was intense! She was kinda scared so I was like; "Oh great she thought that was scary how is she gunna ride Thunder or Space Mountain?" We continue off to New Orleans Square where we ride Pirates of the Carribean, this ride is not really a favorite and it isn't too exciting if you've done it a million times before, but still it's classic Disneyland and a must do everytime. From there we continue walking off through New Orleans Sqaure. Our next stop; The Haunted Mansion, the line for this one was already super long so we just got a fastpass and went off to Thunder Mountain, the wait was only 10 minutes! Great because then we could get it over with fast and see how Vicki likes it. I love it, she hates it and felt sick afterword! Sometimes if a person doesn't like roller coasters I've always had the thought that maybe if they give it a chance and actually get the feel of the coaster then they will enjoy it, cause thats how I use to be, guess some people can't really handle coasters! After that I thought it was a definite NO to Space Mountain later on, since that one is faster and in the dark! After Thunder Mountain they opened this new petting zoo area, so we stayed there for a bit and petted sheep and goats so Vicki could feel a little better. By this time it's time to use our fast pass for the Haunted Mansion. Because it's around Holiday season they always redecorate the Mansion into the theme of The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's nice, but the original Mansion is one of my favorites so I kind of prefer that version over the Holiday version...Sorry Jack Skellington! After that we continue down into Critter Country where Splash Mountain and Winnie the Pooh is, we decide to do Splash Mountain later on go on the Pooh ride since the wait was only 5 minutes. Pooh's fun but even more fun if your under 5 years old. By this time it's already around 12:30pm and it doesn't seem like we're having as much fun as I thought we would. I'm kind of bummed because I love being in the whole Disneyland atmosphere and it just feels the day is going to drag on, Vicki feels there aren't too many rides, but of course since I've been there a bunch of times I know where the majority of rides are. It was also kind of hot and that definitely didn't help. Because of this thought I decide we should head over to Fantasyland where there a bunch of rides in one area. Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pans Flight are two of my favorite Fantasyland rides and a must every Disney visit. Of course, the lines for these are extremely long but we do them anyway. Peter first, then Alice. After Alice the Tea Cups are right next to it so we get on those. I'm not a big fan of the Tea Cups simply because I don't like rides that revolve and spin in place fast, but since this was Vickis first time in a long time and we want to do as much as we can so we get on. There not as bad as I remember, we would spin real fast...then slow...spin real fast...then slow down. I've noticed I'm a little big for the tea cups now! I hadn't been on them since I was like 11 or 12 after all. We then ride the King Arthurs Carrousel, it's called King Arthur yet the theme is Sleeping Beauty...yeah, I don't get it either, the music playing was a circus music box version of Part of that World so that was nice. After that we got Dumbo, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Snow Whites Scary Adventure and Pinocchio's Daring Journey, in which Vicki wasn't too fond of. I don't get that girl, she doesn't like the fast rides yet doesn't like the slow rides! *Confused* The Casey Jr. Train ride is closed for construction as well as the Storybook Land Canal Boats so we then head off to It's a Small World. Now I haven't been on on this one for quite some time, it's really not that great unless you're into dolls from around the world singing about how similar the world and close together we actually are...yeah thats rubbish XD Or unless you're a toddler then its amazing. Anyhow we go on and I was actually pretty impressed! Of course the Small World idea is still the same as its always been but they definitely refurbished it with new dolls and they even added a lot of Disney characters! I spotted Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, Alice and the White Rabbit, Cinderella with her mice friends, Aladdin and Jasmine, Mowgli, Marlin and Dory, Ariel and her sisters, Simba and Pumba, Woody from Toy Story(they are in the new America Section of Small World). So yeah, It's a Small World isn't as dredful as I use to think it was. Next Door to It's Small World is the new Princess Fantasy Faire where you get to meet the Princesses and do all sorts of "Princessy" Activities. This was one of the longest line waits and the SHORTEST experience! We were in line for like a good hour and 20 minutes. We finally get there and Vicki gets to take a picture with Cinderella, Aurora and Mulan. Yeah, all that for less then 2 minutes of Princess time! We didn't want to do the rest of the face painting stuff but as we were leaving Ariel, Belle and Jasmine walk right in! I guess 3 of Princesses switch off with other Princesses every so often or something. We were kind of bummed we missed them but it's okay because Vicki's favorite is Aurora and she got to take a picture with her. Plus Ariel wasn't even in her mermaid outfit so we weren't too bummed. It was kind of awkward because they had walked RIGHT in front of us and they all looked right at me and were like "HELLO HOW ARE YOU!" "ENJOY THE DAY AT DISNEYLAND!" I just kind of smiled and continued on, it's like what to do you say to a Disney Princess? They're really pretty though. The next place we go visit is Mickey's Toon Town because it was super close to where we were, and I wanted to ride Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin since that one is always fun. The wait was long but totally worth it, I love this ride cause you get to spin the car around while going through a wacky cartoon town of Roger Rabbit. I noticed the couple in front of us weren't spinning around AT ALL, how boring hah. We got off and walked around Toon Town for bit, Gadgets Go Coaster was closed but its okay cause I think I'm too big for that one anyway haha. By this time it was already around 6pm and things definitely are getting better, we start to have a really good time. We then met up with my Mom and Neighbors at the Plaza Inn Restaraunt, the food was EXPENSIVE! 13 bucks for a plate of pasta! It was really good though, Vicki didn't like hers too much. We again parted ways with my Mom and Neighbors and since we were around Tomorrowland we decided to go check out the rides there. Autopia was the first Tomorrowland ride we got on, it's not really one of my favorites but Vicki LOVED it! She liked it so much she wanted to go on TWICE! The first time I let her drive, and she was wreckless! I was like grunting the entire time! The next time we got on, I was driving! Her reasoning as to why she liked that ride so much was because she got to drive as wild as she wanted...Anyway, after that we got on Star Tours and the wait was only 5 minutes and its pretty fun though the robot driver was really loud hah. The next ride was Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. This was the first time riding it so I didn't know what to expect. It's an omnimover kind of ride where you sit in a cart and go through an outerspace settting where you use a laser gun to defeat the evil Emperor Zurg! I was totally winning but then Vicki miraculousy caught up and beat me! I couldn't believe it, but it's pretty fun ride. Because this was around the time of firework spectactular show I thought it would be a great time to run to Splash Mountain. Yeah, it definitely was NOT a good idea to ride Splash Mountain at night...this was the first time I ever sat in the very front, and I got freaking SOAKED! It wasn't even the final big drop that got drenched me, it was the second drop where a TIDAL WAVE just washed all over me! So next time I go to Disney I am NOT riding that at night! Vicki and I were wet the rest of time there. We then headed back over to Tomorrowland again where we got on the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Now I'm not sure if the Tomorrowland side is different the Fantasyland side, but this was definitely more intense then I remember! I was like; "Oh God I hope Vicki is okay!" Either or, this ride is still really fun but next time I go to Disney I'm going to ride boths sides to see if there is a difference. But yeah, other then that Vicki actually liked it. The next ride we got on was the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. This was another new Disneyland experience for me, they had closed the original submarine ride for a while but recently reopened it with a Nemo theme. It was pretty cool, it starts off kind of boring but then it gets better where you see laser projections of Nemo and friends swimming around in different areas. After we got off Nemo, I thought it was about time we were heading home, but Vicki then suggested that we go on Space Mountain. This was surprising to me because I had told her it was like a faster version of Thunder Mountain and in the dark! So I was excited she wanted to go on because I LOVE Space Mountain. The wait was 70 minutes and it was already 11:15pm! I really wanted to go on Space Mountain this time because for the Halloween Season they changed it a little and its called Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy. We finally board the ride at exactly 12:10pm. It's the generally the same ride but with this laser projection of a scary looking red ghost popping out at different times of the ride along with some scary sounds to go with it. We get off and I must say it was definitely one of the best rides of the night! Vicki was scared shitless the entire time but she had fun saying; "I handled that coaster better then I thought!" at the end. Which was GREAT, I've always thought Disneyland is a perfect roller coaster training area. It's now 12:20 so we met up with my Mom, Grace and James at the Market Shop in Main st. Together we head to our car in the parking garage. That was actually kind of hectic because James had taken the car earlier to buy some cigarettes and he forgot where he parked it. Finally he found it and he was going to pick us up where we were but it turns out he couldn't so we had to walk all the way to the bottom of the parking garage where we finally hopped in the car and headed for home. I must say, this was probably the funnest time I've ever been to Disneyland, of course I say that everytime, but I think every visit does just get better. At the end of our time at Disneyland Vicki had said; "This really is the happiest place on earth!" And thats great because I definitely agree and had hoped she would say that. We're already planning our next trip!

Here you leave Today and enter the world of Yesterday, Tomorrow and Fantasy

Oh yeah! I was so tired when I got out of the car while walking to our apartment I was thinking of how amazingly comfortable it will be when I get in bed. I actually started giggling and laughing about it! I caught myself doing that and stopped immediately! Imagine if any neighbors saw me, they would have been like wow that guy is psycho!

New Tomb Raider movie: Who will play Lara Croft?

Alrighty, now for those who know me personally will agree that I'm a Tomb Raider fan. I've been playing the Tomb Raider series since I was like 9 and to this day it's still my favorite video game franchise next to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. I'm a geek I know, but I don't care! I love video games! :D

There have been two major motion pictures based off of the games starring Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. While I love both movies and Angelina did great playing the part to this day I think they could have been a tad better. I could go on and on about the nitpicky differences between the video game Lara Croft and the movie Lara Croft, but that would take one essay of a post heh, plus it's not that big of deal anyway and for those who've never played a Tomb Raider before I suppose it does give movie goers the overall idea of what the heck Tomb Raider is all about. The first film did well grossing $40 million its opening weekend but then the second one flopped so plans for a third were scrapped :( Since 2006 there have been reports that a third is in the works. Of course most were rumours until December of 2008 where apparently Warner Brothers had aquired the rights for a new Tomb Raider movie (the previous ones were done by Paramount). Since then movie news about this have been flying around about the screen writer, producer, what is about, whose playing etc. Producer Dan Lin had this to say about it; "It's a great origin story that we're going to tell. A very character-oriented story. I would say more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies...I would say it's like Terminator - character-driven action. I think for me the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little too action-oriented. I wanted to have action, but with character." They are definitely trying to reinvigorate the franchise aswell as the video game Tomb Raider itself(Tomb Raider: Underworld just barely did well financially). What has me guessing though, is that the next game is going to be a prequel aswell, are they going to tie the new movie in with the game? Hmm very curious. Anyhow, since this is a prequel, I'm like 10000000% positive Angelina Jolie will NOT be Lara Croft. While that has me bummed because I thought she did so well in the first Tomb Raiders part of me says that its a good idea to try and market the Tomb Raider franchise again.

So who do I want to play Lara Croft now? *YAY* This takes me back to late 98' early 99' when news about the first Tomb Raider surfaced and I already had all sorts of ideas on who I wanted to play Lara Croft. Back then I wanted Catherine Zeta-Jones or Elizabeth Hurly to play her, Angelina got it and at the time I had NO idea who she was! In fact I was kind of mad about it because I saw a photo of her at the 2000 Academy Awards and she looked like freaking Morticia Adams kissing her brother! Of course when I saw the first trailer for Lara Croft Tomb Raider my thoughts about her instantly changed.

Here are the rumoured contenders for Lady Croft in the new Prequel. As of now my pick is going for Summer Glau.

Summer Glau - She's kind of an underated actress, I saw her in Serenity which she did a pretty good job in. She was also in the Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles tv show and from what I hear she was fantastic in that with all the kick-ass action scenes, plus she has the athletics needed to play Lara. To top it off, she kind of has the old school Lara Croft look to her...so even if the new movie has NOTHING to do with the original 5 amazing Tomb Raiders...at least Lara will actually look like Lara!

Kristin Kreuk - Canadian born actress of Dutch and Chinese Decent she is the second top contender next to Summer Glau shown in polls. Supposedly these two are "battling" for the role though I'm sure thats a rumour. Hmm, this one interests me. Lara Croft is an English woman, but I actually would not mind seeing Kristin take on the role. I did afterall, use think Lara Croft was Asian back when I first played the game. The only problem is that she was in that Chun Li movie and I heared that movie sucked major. Wheather it was her acting, story or what I don't know and I'm too lazy to go look it up, either or if she gets the role I hope she can pull it off.

Mila Kunis - I know what you're thinking...Meg from Family Guy and Jackie from that 70's show...she does totally look the part. I haven't seen her in any major movies other then her small young role in Gia (Hah, whata coinkidink she played a young Gia in Gia while adult Gia was played Angelina Jolie and here she might be a younger Lara Croft) While she is freakin' beautiful though I'm not sure how her voice would sound with an English Accent...If she was Lara and I saw her in it I probably wouldn't be able to get Meg out of my head and just wait for Peter Griffen to interrupt somewhere.

Sienna Millar - Let me start by saying the picture presented here is from GI Joe and its a total Lara Croft RIP OFF! Look at those gun holsters! And the Outfit!? It just just screams LARA CROFT! I remember seeing GI Joe in theater and I was just like...wow...she looks like Lara what a Tomb Raider rip off! Anyway, she did pretty good in GI Joe even though the movie kinda sucked...she's an OK actress, but I'm not too sure if she would make a good Lara...even though her look is ace...OBVIOUSLY

Rhona Mitra - The HILARIOUS thing about this rumour is that...she was actually a Lara Croft Model to promote the Tomb Raider games back in 1997-1998. I had NO CLUE was an actress (she was in Doomsday and Underworld 3) I don't know about this one, she's a only a year younger then Angelina and the point of not having Angelina is because they want a younger actress because this is an origin story...so what the hell? Might aswell bring Angelina back...she is an amazing actress afterall.

Megan Fox - Oh GOD ALMIGHTY NO!!! This rumour has already been bunked but I feel I have to talk about anyway. Supposedly shes the "next Angelina Jolie" whatever the hell that means, but...just no! Actually, this was the biggest Lara Croft rumour on the net, reports of Fox playing Lara were everywhere and I was just kicking and screaming. Sure she's hot, sure she looks like a younger Angelina, but homegirl can't act in my opinion. She needs to stay with Transformers and the crappy horror movies like Jennifer's Body. Lara Croft needs a good actress to fill her big boots(or bra size whatever).
P.S WE ALL KNOW WHAT SHE LOOKS LIKE...so no need for me to post a pic heh.

I'm sure NONE of the above actresses will make the cut, they'll probably surprise me and pick some weirdo the same way they did with the first Tomb Raider. For now I really want Summer Glau to play Lara, though I'm still open to other contenders. Either way, I'm just excited there will be a new Tomb Raider movie (Megan Fox not included)
